I can't express how much I LOVE THIS CREW! I called Thursday evening and the owner Eddie answered. I told him I was looking for a cover up, full half sleeve on my arm. And what I wanted. He told me to go to the shop here on Oahu and he had an artist Aloali'i that was perfect for the job. I walked 10 minutes to the shop and within 15 minutes of getting there I was booking my appointment with Aloali'i. He came in on his day off (Sat) cause this was my last weekend here since I'm here for 2 weeks of Army training. I can honestly say he is the kindest, most down to earth, beautiful soul you'll ever meet!!!!! He completely free handed my stencil and then started his outlining. As he would outline he would take a pen and continue to draw on me to lay the designs as we went. It was a 13 hour day, 10 of it was just tattooing. He treated me with nothing but love and respect. We both refused to quit and I sat there the entire time and let the man do what he does best. He is a true gift and a mastermind at what he does. I am eternally grateful I was blessed to meet him, and chosen to wear his ink. I also met the other artists. Dave is a mad man with his art work. He will be doing my leg sleeve cover up. Squid is a talent all on her own as I got to see her do some gorgeous work while I was there. Gracie was the apprentice I met and was so kind she got me food while I was getting my art done, such a nice person, and Tomo was awesome to get to meet and talk to as well. I am willing to fly to Hawaii just to get my tattoo done if that tells you anything about how I felt and was treated while here. I'm even bringing my brother to come with me to get some work done by Dave. If you're on an Island or happen to be in Oahu I HIGHLY recommend you give Skin Factory the chance to make your dreams come true with ink you'll be proud of to wear for the rest...
Read moreNever mind the two days we went in to meet the artists with mixed experiences we finally agreed to schedule with two artists we felt matched our personalities. Scheduled for a set time when we arrived one of the artists had no idea about the appointment and was double booked. The other had an appointment running late. But said “I’ll just knock them both out” and asked us to wait. We waited an hour until we saw the appointment that was running late to out for a smoke break, come back in, and resume. We were told “10 or 15 more minutes” which we waited until we finally left. We received noticed an hour and a half after our SCHEDULED appointment that they were ready. 1. We booked with two artists, one was double booked and offered no apology, the next artist who could “knock us both out” was still an hour and a half late with no update. Had their client go take a smoke break while we were still waiting. The office was hot and uncomfortable. We walked two minutes down the road and found a much more professional and relaxed studio that got us in, answered our questions and actually made us feel like they wanted to...
Read moreAfter some failed attempts at getting a tribal armband at some of the local shops, we tried this place. We were met with the same dilemma. Pricey & difficult to pull off successfully. So, I decided to change it to something else. I decided I would get an arm tattoo, tribal style instead. I thought about adding a Filipino Star to it, but once I was introduced to “Alo”, he thought better of it & suggested I not go that route like everyone else. His idea was to add Filipino “elements” instead. With this, along with other ideas I had about this tattoo, he brought it all to life. I don’t have that much experience with tattoos, I only have had two previous ones. I must say though, that this is the best experience I’ve had so far with an artist knowing & understanding what I wanted and making it reality. Alo is the man if you’re looking to do a tribal piece. He is very humble & definitely has the skills and the know-how to get you what you’re looking for. His work speaks for itself. This, coming from another...
