220 West Alabama Apartments — Local services in Houston

These apartment buildings are disgusting!!! There is a horrible mold problem and a gigantic roach infestation. I honestly can’t believe these buildings are still standing. I lived there for 3 years and had to deal with: roaches EVERYWHERE(German roaches which are the worst kind/almost impossible to get rid of/most likely to go with you when you move), outdated AC that was broken and making our electric bills cost WAY more, mold everywhere because the bedroom wall was rotting out from the window to the floor, horrible neighbors and people off the streets banging on our door and trying to open our door, and days where workers would be RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM WINDOW, no warning no nothing !!! (This could have easily been avoided if handled correctly but at least 3 strangers saw me BUTT NAKED and were close enough to the window they physically touched the glass- mind you I never even considered people COULD fit or be back there so this added a horrifying new fear) AND the same area where people could come see me naked as they worked-those window locks were broken AND THE WINDOW SHUTTERS !!!!! And Lisa is horrible at her job, not only that just she is lying, manipulative and the QUEEN OF GASLIGHTING!!! I could write you a book longer than the Bible of everything wrong with this place, but I’ll keep it simple- You will lose your mind and ruin your life if you move into this building. Do not do this to yourself !!!!! The people in the reviews saying their roach problem is gone- baby that’s exactly what we thought an then it got 40 times worse and we realized they’re in the walls and drains and anything else your brain could possible consider. Roaches and mold can KILL YOU !!!!! Oh and here’s a fun fact- did you know someone got murdered across the street at that little shop??? Us either until one of our neighbors caught us trying to go at night an warned us it’s a VERY dangerous area. I get it, downtown ANYWHERE is not safe !!! But the least you can do for yourself is find an apartment...

So I found these apartments after leaving my last apartment after a break in. I’ve been here for a year and Lisa for the most part is helpful she’s super busy so sometimes I get her voicemail, but she always gets back to me in a timely manner. I did experience a small roach problem in the summer but, honestly once my neighbor moved it stopped. Alexander is always is really helpful he will definitely go above and Beyond for you and honestly as someone working hard to pay rent at a complex that’s all you really want no apartment is perfect, but when the office is helpful and makes you feel as if you matter it makes your living experience super worth it. I’m now transferring to a one bedroom so safe to say I love it here the location and Alex make these apartments well...

I lived here for two years and move out at the end of this month. It started great, it was clean and in a great area. Unfortunately, for the past 9 months or so things have gone downhill dramatically. There is a massive roach problem (I'm 99% sure we had a German roach infestation), an opossum lived on my front porch for a while according to my neighbors, and rats would hang out on the windowsill outside my bathroom (since it looked out over a field that was never maintained properly). I really liked these apartments for a while, but they have been a mess for a while. Other than the pest problems, the neighbors are great, the location is fantastic, and the apartments themselves...
