If I could give more stars I would! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Splash but also Tina (The Owner) She is such a dream to work with, when I moved back to Idaho Falls with my GSD puppy (As a new owner of a GSD) she was SO SO helpful and awesome in helping us while we were there but also gave me tips for my pup at home. The Store is awesome she has a great variety of food, treats, toys and hygiene for pets but even better is the bathing area that they have.. it is the ONLY way I will bathe my dog! It is such a stressful, messy, hassle when I do it at home but when we go to splash the tubs are standing level soap and conditioner is provided as well as towels and a dryer. Tina could see how frazzled I was trying to bathe my dog for the first time and she came right over and helped me get the hang of things and help calm my anxious dog. She is so passionate about what she does and with the dogs that you can see the pride she puts into her store and as a customer you can really feel the difference and I appreciate that!
The prices are great, Customer service is 100% and its local! You cannot beat the prices I would easily spend $40 plus to have my dog washed and groomed, here I can do it myself where my pup won't be scared with someone else, I can get my food here and awesome treats all for a good price and staff that love me and my...
Read moreThe facilities are nice and, as a malamute owner, it's great to have access to a velocity dryer to turn 4hr drying time into 2hrs, but the employees were rather rude and abrasive when I brought my lab mix and used a furminator to brush him out (along with a rubber curry but they were very concerned about the furminator). They belittled me and kept repeating themselves over and over that it "cuts and damages the hair" despite my explaining I've had 2yrs professional bathing experience, done my own research and I knew exactly what the brush does and what it's for. They even went as far as to insist an undercoat rake was better for a very SHORT haired dog (which would have been useless and done nothing for the shedding). Yes, a furminator is a /blade/ and will cut the tips of some of the guard hairs, but it's minimal, won't damage the coat when used properly and in a non show dog is a nonissue. Also, professional salons wouldn't use it if it were damaging or cut a noticeable amount of length (I use it weekly and my dog isn't bald nor does his coat look shorter than...
Read moreI have been taking my dog to Splash for several years now and have always been treated alright, but after my experience today I may need to find somewhere else to take my pup.
While loading my dog into the bathing tub, she got nervous and backed down the ramp. The attendant that was helping me grabbed her choke collar and proceeded to attempt to drag her back up the ramp by her chain collar, effectively choking her. My dog (and myself) were quite rattled by this behavior, but I bathed her anyway.
When I checked out, I asked to speak to the owner so I could share my experience with her. I was quickly met with a response of ‘oh well this is her first week’ and ‘this was a good learning experience’. I’m glad it was a ‘good’ experience for them, however it was not a ‘good’ experience for us as customers. I’m disappointed in how dismissive the owner was about her employees behavior and how unapologetic she was about my...
