This place is definitely the cat's meow to go for Legos if you want anything imaginable Lego and to see/touch what you're getting and don't want to risk buying them online (risking getting fakes or generics or nasty bricks with cat hair on them). Their relatively large selection of board games, Schleich, Breyer Horses, crafting kits, Playmobil, Barbie, retro wood toys and Wild Republic is beyond well stocked. Unique items you won't find anywhere else and definitely not at some faceless big box store. You won't find any of the over-hyped fad "here today, no interest in tomorrow" toys here ... primarily your tried and true through the years quality items. I stress the word quality. I consider STTK the FAO Schwarz of Ohio. Now as a destination for model trains and model-making/kitbashing supplies ... keep in mind this is a toy store, not a Local Hobby Shop (LHS). There's a difference. It has a selection of kits and trains and some items you'd only otherwise find on eBay. But, in this aspect of the store ... you'll probably walk the aisles but ultimately find yourself purchasing from the big online model railroading sites to get kits, rolling stock, and layout/kitbashing supplies. STTK does fall short there, but that's understandable and there are several surviving brick and mortar Hobby Shops in this region to fill that niche. Since the toy store handles quality name-brand merchandise, the prices are understandably above average even on discontinued items. Again ... it's all about quality, longevity, and memorable as opposed to cheap, throw-a-way and forgettable. The staff is friendly, helpful and customer oriented ... something that is getting to be rare in retail anymore. They'll even host children's parties ... a birthday in a toy store, how awesome is that! If you're an Adult and want to feel that nostalgia again you had when you were a Kid walking into a "real" independent toy store (and not a dirty, disorganized, bare shelved area most big box stores consider a Toy Aisle) ... this is as close to toy paradise as you'll ever get. STTK is what local shopping...

Read moreI left this review earlier and see that the store responded. I just want to clarify that I understand not having a product is understandable. I also understand that your pricing is based on your costs and may be higher then other stores. It is customer service that will make the difference to many visiting the store and keep coming back. Whether it is a small business or large business, it is the experience then the pricing that customers talk about. It was around 5:30 in the evening. There were interesting displays and we were confused where to start looking for the red ball we needed to get for our granddaughter. Couldn't find an associate so we asked at the desk where two young men were doing something with Legos. They called a young man up and we were told to follow him. No interaction with him. He took us to an area and said this is where the balls should be and he walked away to finish talking to another associate that had tagged along on our walk. No balls of any color, we walked around the area to see if they were somewhere else. Very disappointed in service and selection. We mentioned to the associates at the desk that they might want to stock balls since it was a toy store. He replied he would tell them. Poor service, higher pricing, and selective merchandise is...
