Chicken Shawrma Rice Review
I was passing by this mall and was in need of a halal food place. I found this spot.
I tried the Chicken Shawrma Rice plate. The chicken looked like it was marinated with some type of black sauce and it seemed medium cooked as some pieces required hard chewing.
Meat & Rice: 2/5. Need improving on how to marinate and cook the chicken for it to be appeasing to different types of customers.
Portion Size: 4/5. For the price of $10, I was expecting the plate to have more portions, but nonetheless, I finished my plate satisfied.
Salad & Sauce: 3/5. Salad tasted fine, but again very small in portion size. The tahini sauce was not sufficient. I would recommend them to include the NY style white sauce. There was a green cilantro spicy side dip sauce which was great, but I did not try too much, as I am not too fond of spicy food.
Side note: Falafel 5/5. I tried the falafel samples they had and they tasted great; I ended up ordering 10 to go.
Overall - I would definitely recommend the owner to reflect on these reviews and look to improve...
Read moreI visited New Jersey for the first time and stumbled upon Newport Mall—what a pleasant surprise! While exploring the food court, Hummus Grill immediately caught my eye with its vibrant setup and tempting menu. I decided to try their falafel sandwich, and wow—it did not disappoint! The falafel was perfectly crispy, the flavors were spot-on, and the hummus? Absolutely unforgettable. I already know I’ll be missing that creamy goodness back home.
The menu was well-organized and easy to navigate, making it simple to choose what I wanted. The staff were incredibly friendly, greeted me with a smile, and called my name the moment my food was ready—served hot and fresh.
If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. This...
Read moreI had such a good lunch here. I went with Chicken Shawarma with rice and was more than pleasantly surprised. It was $10 and was really a huge portion, so much so that I had quite a bit leftover to take home.
The Chicken Shawarma was served with basmati rice, Israeli salad, and came topped with tahini sauce. The flavors were phenomenal - everything went together great and it was seasoned to perfection. It also came with zhug sauce on the side, and I ended up dumping the whole portion of it onto the meal because it tasted so good. The way all of the flavors came together really made this lunch fantastic. I'll...
