I would like to tell you about Jenny O'Hair Salon, a most wonderful place with extremely talented and kind stylists. The salon is owned by Jenny, who I have known for over 20 plus years when she was a junior stylist in Hoboken. She was so amazing at such a young age and talented, that I requested she cut my hair and style it even before she became a senior stylist. Jenny has been doing my hair all these years. I have extremely curly hair and Jenny cuts and styles it so beautifully all the time. One thing I remember most about Jenny from so many years ago, is that she came to my house in Hoboken to do my hair when I was confined to bedrest during my pregnancy. When Jenny heard I couldn't come to the salon because of a difficult pregnancy, she offered to come to my house for the 5 months I was confined home to cut and style my hair. I couldn't believe she went to all that trouble. And, for someone confined to bedrest, it made me feel so much better to have a beautiful cut and style. But, of course through the 20 years I've known Jenny, I realized that I shouldn't have been so surprised because she is so kind and caring. She takes great pride in making her clients, who become family to her, feel great and look great!!! And, of course Jenny has been doing my daughter's hair ever since she was a little girl. My daughter will only go to Jenny because Jenny is able to produce the vision that each of us has for ourselves and our hairstyle.
When Jenny opened her own salon, I was so excited. I knew that the young woman I met so many years ago, was going to create a salon filled with talented stylists just like her. Sure enough, Jenny opened up a salon with extremely talented and kind professionals like her. Of course, I followed Jenny to her new hair salon even if there were so many hair salons in Hoboken (No one can do my hair like Jenny with such meticulous care ). Sure enough Leya, Carin, Serena are all amazing stylists. I've watched these young women style all different types of hair with many different types of cuts and styles for all occasions. And, now 20 years later I color my hair and Jenny and all the stylists do the most beautiful color. The stylists work beautifully in collaboration also. What's great about this salon, is that everyone is so talented and kind. So if Jenny isn't available, I can go to any of the stylists and am confident my hair will be just as beautiful as if Jenny does it. In fact, Leah has colored and styled my hair when Jenny isn't available. Because they know their clients so well, Leah also knows exactly how I like my hair. And, Yvette and Serena who manage the appointments are so fun, kind and courteous always trying to accommodate your schedule.
When I think of Jenny O'Hair Salon, I'm reminded of the song from Cheers. "I wanna go where everyone knows my name.....and they're always glad you came....". Jenny O' Hair Salon is just that kind of place. The stylists treat you as family and you will always leave with a beautiful, cut, color and style and with the warm feeling of having just...
Read moreI had been getting my hair cut by the same stylist in Manhattan for about 15 years and then suddenly a few months ago he moves to Queens. I have always lived in Jersey City, but worked in Manhattan, so it was super easy to get my hair cut during the day while on my lunch. I now had to find a new person to cut my hair and figured I needed to look for places locally when I was out walking my dog after work. I didn’t recall seeing any places of interest on my usual dog-walking route, so I walked south of the Grove Street PATH instead of my usual north a few months back and stumbled upon POSH Hair Studio about a 5 minute walk away. I saw a guy getting a haircut there by a male stylist so I grabbed a pamphlet about the salon as I walked by and called for an appointment when I got home. I wasn’t sure what to expect because I hadn’t let anyone different cut my hair in 15 years. Turns out I loved it! The haircut was excellent (just as good as my NYC stylist), the price was less than half what I was paying in NYC and the salon was only a 5 minute walk from my apartment. I’ve gone to POSH three times now over the past three months and don’t see any reason why I won’t continue to do so for many...
Read moreBy far the WORST and POOREST coloring and customer service I have ever received. I cannot recommend this place to anyone with a good heart. The business owner Hector insulted me and called me "crazy" to my face when I went back to ask for refund. The highlight was way too bright. I paid $150 and $30 tip for a full-highlight (please note that over the phone when I made the appointment, I was told the coloring would cost $75). The salon was lit dimly in front of the mirror, and under the dim light, the highlight looked ok. Looked absolutely horrendous under regular lighting. I ran to Target to get a dark brown hair dye on the same night at 11pm. I only kept the color for 5hours. After work the following day, I contacted the salon to see if I could have any fee reimbursed, the business owner Hector not only rudely refused to reimburse any fee, he dared to call me "crazy" to my face and told me to dispute the charges with my bank. A NIGHTMARE experience for me not only what it did to my hair but for the personal insult I received when I tried to resolve the matter in good faith. Please rethink before going to this place. There are reviews with one star that are recounting the...
