Sunglass Hut at Macy's — Local services in Jersey City

I’m so glad that someone posted a picture of the person responsible for such poor customer service at this location.

I visited the location Saturday March 16, 2024 at approximately 12:10 pm.

When I entered the section I asked the lady in the photo if the glasses were mixed in (male / female). The lady immediately answered and said “THEY’RE UNISEX SIR!”

I perused the sections to see what I can find and I overheard a lady asked for the prices of a pair of glasses. The woman in the picture then said “THE PRICES ARE ON THE SIDE! On this particular day she had on a green shirt and dark gray spandex pants.

She did not engage with any customer as she was more concerned with putting items away.

I got on line and she continued to place items in boxes for approximately 60 seconds as that was more important than customer service and my transaction.

I figured she was having a bad day so I didn’t want to ask her for her manager. I just knew that if she gave me attitude again, I would be leaving in handcuffs. Normally I wouldn’t continue with the purchase due to horrible customer service but I really needed the glasses for the day. In the past I would be asked if I wanted a protection plan for my glasses (which I purchase each time whenever I buy sunglasses). The lady in the picture did not offer me this option.

I am mature enough to say that I’ve always had amazing customer service with sunglass hut and will not let this experience stop me from shopping at the store. I will be following up with a phone call to speak with a manager regarding...

I’m giving one star because of the employee working in the sunglasses area, not the one having blue eyes but the other one, I was busy with my kids otherwise I would talk to the store manager. He was so mean to me, when talking to him, I totally forgot that the mall was close the previous two months, he laughed at me, and then because I really wanted to purchase a sunglasses pair, he was telling his colleague:” she already tried 10 pairs!!” How can I purchase something without trying it on?!!!! To spend money it’s okay but not to try on?!! What kind of people are around this world now?! When I changed my mind for another pair, he clacked the door of the closet because he didn’t like it!! If I could give zero stars I would only because of that person! I hope the manager of the store will put him somewhere else because I would never buy again from there. I bought many times from there but...

Ohhh where to start!!!!! After a long and crazy afternoon trying to get the correct sunglasses, finally Linda at the sunglass Hut at Macy's Newport mall help me, she was knowledgeable, she listen to me and the frustration I had. Nyc times Square location sucks, they gave me a wrong pair of sunglasses and when I called to let them know they not even apologized, they told me come back tomorrow.I explained I live in Jersey they told me they can't do nothing else, after calling to every single store near by and have a negative answer, Linda made my visit pleasant and I walked away with the correct sunglasses.
