We visited Ketchikan on our cruise to Alaska, there was issues with our times and were late getting off the ship so this created us to be late getting back to the ship. I was actually heartbroken about it because I really wanted to find a Sasquatch statue.
I watched a TikTok from Sincerely.sarahandharry about the one her husband purchased in Ketchikan. When we got back from our excursion, the lines to return to the ship were LONG. My friends and I ran around all the different shops that we thought may have the Sasquatch statue. One shop even asked me if it had to be Sasquatch, umm Yes!
We arrived to Caribou Creek and in hindsight, they were probably closing or closed. There was a bear statue in the doorway that we sneaked in by. They were all very sweet and helpful even though we walked in SO late. I asked if they had a Sasquatch statue, they looked for a bit and remembered there was one left at their family's store across the street called Rain Barrel. Rain Barrel was closed to the public at the time but these sweet people ran over there and checked for me. While checking for it, I explained to them that the statue was the only thing I wanted from this trip. I had no idea these existed until I saw the TikTok. They didn't know about the video and I told them Sincerely.sarahandharry went viral and I showed it to them. They were all so excited to see it and to know it went viral. They couldn't wait to share the news with their family as that sasquatch was from their store too!!!
They made my dream come true, I really thought I was going to leave Alaska without by guy Sasquatch. The statue itself is hand made and now resides here in California. I fully recommend their store when you are in Ketchikan. The quality of the service and products...
Read moreGreat locally owned store with some of the nicest employees in Ketchikan. We spent the day in Ketchikan with thousands of other tourist and were most impressed with this store. The is full of locally hand made merchandise that is unique to the tribes/culture of the area. As we were walking through the store, and employee gave both of my children a free walrus tooth. The kids were so excited for the tooth, with my 7 year old joking he wanted to put the tooth under the pillow to see if the tooth fairy would come.
The store has a very clean and organized feel. You have a sliding scale with price. You can buy large totem poles that the store will Ship to your home, to large hand carved items out of bones and polished rocks. If you are looking for a place with unique souvenirs/ gifts, the. this is the place to visit. Especially if you are on a cruise and do not have much time to visit all...
Read moreI bought two of my favorite pieces of art I own from Caribou Creek. Throughout my visit to Alaska, I knew I wanted to find some totem poles that were visually appealing, had meaning, and were also reasonably priced. Caribou Creek had it all, and was by far the best store I had been in that celebrated high-quality local art and had great service. The employees helped me pick out pieces that resonated with me, and informed me more about what they mean and stories relating to them. Their shipping method is also amazing- they shipped within two weeks and I got them about two-three weeks after that (all the way to Florida). They texted me the tracking info, and wrapped it with care that it arrived in perfect condition in Florida. With shipping and taxes, and these two peices- it totaled to around $230, but pieces that resembled memories I will never forget. I hope to be...
