Welcome 2 My NightMare ~ NonStop NeverEnding NOISE
UpDate: 11.5.24 5:40am-6:30am IN THE MORNING Building fire alarm rang for an entire hour inside every apartment. There are loud speakers INSIDE the units. This was interspersed with the manager cutting in to tell us the alarm was completely false & should be ignored.
UpDate: 10.21.24 9:35pm Someone was murdered tonight @ Thea, the sister property right next door. 3 armed men walked in through the 'secure' entrance forced n2 an apt, fatally shot then robbed the occupant. There was a shooting here just 2 years ago.
Club = Violence U can't disconnect people from nature & be surprised when they act like animals. It's only a matter of time B4 residents make the connection and sue.
Beautiful Surroundings Mean Nothing, If The Only Place You Find Peace, Is SomeWhere Else.
UpDate: 10.21.24 8:27pm So her response to this review has been to turn sound up, but just specifically in the elevator lobby for owners & tenants, as well as all community areas both inside & out. It's as if she's telling us 'this MY HOUSE'. You just live in it.
The level of selfish unprofessionalism is staggering.
UpDate: 8.27.24 The general manager runs this place like a night club or cheap motel.
You walk in from the crazy hustle & flow of the city N2 an obscenely bright lobby where your senses are even more selfishly assaulted with even louder tacky music inside, the entire way u r bombarded, until the door in your apartment closes behind you.
Many multiple outdoor speakers in the common areas completely prevent conversation or even organized thought. Separate smaller hidden speakers for the sectioned off pool & jacuzzi areas assure not one spot on any level in the entire building, even outside, can you hear anything at all beyond the noise she's decided you should.
It is relentless and inescapable 24/7.
This is not a home. It's a gay bath house or a night club with private rooms. We are intentionally cut off & completely prevented from ever being able to even hear natural sounds of nature. What gives her the right, 2 deny kind humans deserving the Serenity of simple Peace & Quiet? The hubris of entitlement from a woman of the privileged class tastelessly dictating sound, in a building predominantly 'other'.
I was very happy here once. Now I just get anxious, coming back from yoga. It's remarkable one selfish person gets to determine with no vote what everyone else hears. That even in the place I live, we don't have a choice, unless it's the one she's made for us.
Everyone has complained. It doesn't seem to matter. She really doesn't care. The pictures you see with no people in the gym or the pool level were taken mid afternoon on a Saturday. How do you continue to keep your job, when you obviously do so this poorly?
She completely undermines all the work put in by the architects, developers, builders and of course, Investors. Beautiful facilities and grounds mean nothing if the only place you find peace is somewhere else. This is not upscale living by any measure. It's just life locked up, inside a noisy concrete box.
This is why the people who were duped into buying here at all are angry and bitter. Simple Humans deserving of serenity, making excuses and accepting why they never get to hear the natural sounds of nature. Why it's ok one woman with severely unresolved issues needs to dictate the soundtrack of other peoples lives and gets to selfishly take their rights away for simple peace and quiet.
Beautiful Grounds & Facilities Mean Nothing, If The Only Place You Find Peace, Is Somewhere Else.
No one who could afford to live here, would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy parents heard about Metropolis in China and told me to go look at the condos. After the tour, I thought the condos were mediocre with exuberant HOA fees. I woke up the next morning and got news from my parents that they had signed an agreement in to purchase the apartment in my name. Apparently the sales person in China told them it was ok to sign as me!! I hadn't seriously considered buying the apartment so I was shocked that they decided so quickly. When I skimmed the Chinese version of the contract (which was presented to my parents), I noticed there was a clause for rescission rights within 30 days notice. After more research of the building, I decided against purchasing and asked my parents to notify Greenland a week later. Of course there's a twist, Greenland argued that the 30 days clause is a "translation mistake" in the Chinese version of the contract and the legally binding contract is the English version, which has rescission rights within 3 days notice. This is a Chinese developer, marketing this LA building in China to Chinese buyers and you make "translation mistakes" in the Chinese contract?! Also...how do you translate numbers wrong? Even though I'm not a lawyer I'm pretty sure that a contract with my initials signed by my parents is not legally binding... Anyway, Greenland won't return our deposit so here I am writing an angry review warning other customers. It also just makes me sad because this is exactly the type of thing that ruins Chinese...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAwful experience. At first, itās ok, since everything in this building is brand new. But after few months, I start to feel that they are making strange rules that undermine the residentsā right. First, they rent out all parking lots of outsiders instead of keeping them for residents. Every residents are limited to only invite one friend per week. And if you have more friends coming to visit you, they have to pay money for parking. Our friends came only 3 hours and they have to pay 32 bucks. This is so ridiculous. I never hear of any apartments limiting residents right to invite friends. Who offer them this right to interfere and make money by this? Also, we have been reporting smoking issues since last October, and until last week they were willing to post a notice to warn the smoking issue. I canāt understand why could this take so long to deal with a safety issue? Iām so annoyed since I feel they only care about making profits instead of helping people who have already living in this building. I donāt know who are deciding all these policies. But this is not a hotel but a living apartment. We live our life here. I We need respect and care. So...
