In June ‘16 I took my dad’s antique pocket watch in to have the cracked crystal replaced and was told it would take awhile due to the crystal needing to be ordered. By September, not hearing anything, I called and said I’d be in to pick it up within a week, fixed or no. I picked it up with a replaced crystal, brought it home and realized even when I kept it wound, it stopped running. When I reset it, the minute hand stuck and rubbed against the crystal. Frustrated after all the time Planet Bead had it, I was not about to take it back. Last week, I took it to a jeweler who will finally fix it: the crystal Planet Bead installed was the wrong size so it had to be glued on, and glue got inside of the crystal, hardened, and causes the minute hand to get stuck. The jeweler will order the correct size and install it correctly. I can not recommend Plant Bead for this type of repair and will no longer do...

I have been to this location on more than one occasion and both times this place has had the door locked. The first time he actually said to me "What do you want? " What do I want???? Who says that to someone who comes to their store? He told me I couldn't walk on the floor because they were having the floors refinished and he would get anything and bring it to me but I had to stay on the front carpet? I told him forget it. Why would I go to a store and everything I want to see this guy has to bring to me? Gosh this guy does not want business at all..Then today my family and I went and the door was locked again and he had one lady in the store and said she would be done in 5 minutes if we could just wait outside? With the way I've been treated both times I will never visit this racist...

The shop owner is genuinely one of the coolest people I've ever met. I stopped in at the suggestion of the jewelers up the street as I was looking to have my watch repaired.

Not only did he fix it within 10-ish minutes, he also showed me how he was doing it so I could tackle it myself next time, some extra features that I didn't even know the watch could do, and gave it a deep cleaning when he fixed the glass.

One of those rare places that are a treasure to find. It almost felt like being in an Indiana Jones movie where you had to seek out an expert of a subject-area, tucked away in their domain filled with academic curiosities from their life-long commitment to the subject.
