Flourchild Pizza — Restaurant in Milwaukee

My husband and I have been going to Third Coast for years and are in love with anything and everything the owners create. We were ecstatic when they started making pizza! Their Curd Your Enthusiasm frozen pizza is available at Sendiks and we lived on it until they opened the official restaurant. Located in the old Distilled spot on Milwaukee, parking is near impossible. I thought I’d be running in and out so I didn’t want to use valet, but they did have the option! It was 5:30 on a Thursday and I got lucky finding one on the block. If you come on the weekend, you’ll want to use Valet. The atmosphere is inviting, cozy, and hip. There is not a ton of seating but they did a great job of utilizing their space. I sat at their spacious bar and ordered a delicious margarita. I had ordered my dinner ahead of time through their website. I received a text that it would be ready at 5:25 but it wasn’t. I think it was a glitch in the system because two others came in for their food, which was ready on time. I believe they ordered through Door Dash, which seems to be more reliable. I was able to make my pizza “lightly baked” which was great because I live 35 minutes away. They sliced it, which is unusual because assembling it on the pan was annoying but they had a crisper in the box and maybe I could put that right in the oven? They had baking instructions but nothing about how to pan the pizza. The buffalo mac & cheese came in two boxes, one for Buffalo chicken and one for the mac & cheese. I really appreciated this. They do a great job of packaging to go orders. The quality of the food was amazing. We started with the cheesy garlic sticks. I didn’t realize that they are stuffed with cheese, wow! Excellent. I wanted a classic pizza so I ordered their Club Banger which came with pepperoni and Calabrian honey. Absolutely amazing. The crust was flakey yet chewy, in a good way. It had a ton of flavor and I took at least five more bites after I was completely stuffed. We also ordered their buffalo mac & cheese which was very good. It’s overshadowed by the pizza. Unless you are a huge mac & cheese fan, I would save as much stomach space as possible for their pizza. I was in love with this dinner, which was not at all surprising. I really wanted to give this place another chance after having one of their pizzas delivered to my house before. The first time I tried it I was okay with it, but figured maybe I just needed to try something else. I placed an order for pick up and my fiance went in to pick up for us tonight. Not only did my fiance have to wait 30 min past the time we received the text message saying our order was ready, he was apparently treated poorly by some of the staff. At one point, he overheard a front of house staff member ask her co-worker "Are you okay?", in reference to her co-worker helping my fiance, as if he wasn't supposed to be there. There was no seating area to wait in, so he was left standing for over thirty minutes and treated like he was intruding. Then, back of house staff came to ask him for "proof" of the order, and after he showed them the receipt. That's when they found out they gave our order away to someone else, and they had to remake the order all over again 🤦🏻 Thanks to the employee who was actually frustrated on behalf of my fiance and compensated us for the order -- but if I'm being honest, giving it to us for free is the bare minimum. I have worked in food service and I try to be understanding, but I can't condone the staff treating my partner like an inconvenience when it was their fault for giving our order away. I really didn't want to leave this negative review, but I can't recommend this place and will not be patronizing them again. The pizza wasn't even that good for free. There are multiple local pizza places in Milwaukee that are better, accessible, and have more than one staff member willing to help out. Extremely...

My interest peaked when I learned of its opening at the start of ‘22 and I’ve been quite curious since. Thus, I received a full experience to reflect on!

Spending time inside this fanciful space while awaiting my order was vibrant and pleasant, and I do hope that the men’s bathroom sink faucet and handles could be restored to their original condition so that future guests could enjoy washing their hands.

The music in the bathroom and dining room was a bit too loud and over-sensuating for me but it communicated the hipster attitude of the restaurant brand well, in addition to the thematic creativity within the restaurant’s surface design.

With “extra crispy” bake time, I enjoyed the mozzarella and sauce + marinara and hot honey sauce on the side (which, I stopped back in to ask for after eating 3/4 of the pizza, and was gladly provided complimentarilly). - a sincere thank you for the abundant portions and for being so kind and generous! - I was not expecting this 🙂‍↕️

Freshly-mixed and unique garlicky sauce flavor, a little bit salty overall, but very genuine and “homemade from scratch” which I would definitely come back to🔥

The quantity of mozzarella cheese was a little overpowering 😅 I would suggest asking for light to medium cheese portioning and adding a topping for flavor variety.
