The gym is also older, but but has a new views of the city since it's higher up. Two different levels, one more weight lifting and the other with cardio and wide range of equipment. There is a small yoga room and another quite large fitness room w/ mirrors that you can utilize when there aren't classes. I do like this. One of the biggest pluses is the large quantity of random gym accessories/equipment- such as foam rollers, pilate rings, yoga blocks, even balance boards for PT, lots of resistance bands, etc. This is the thing I like the most. Love the yoga teacher, Alicia here. She is main reason why I come to this gym. However, this gym could benefit from a remodel.

What I don't like: The hours. This place closes at 6pm on weekends. Today is Labor Day, where most people would have probably liked to hit the gym. This place decided to close at 2pm today. This is the main reason I gave it a low rating. I can't get to the gym 80% of the time to fit my schedule because it's always closed. My other complaint is how inconvenient and time consuming it is just to get to the actual gym. It's intimidating coming for the first time, going to the parking structure, getting a ticket each time, taking an elevator (two sometimes depending on where you parked), validating your ticket, etc. It's kind of a pain. Especially when it's not abundantly clear where the WAC even is- no signage, the elevator buttons are faded or don't exist. Only one elevator on the 2nd floor takes to the WAC, the others are used for other businesses that share the same space. You'll probably walk out confused if you need to make a left or a right a few times before you recall. Another complaint is I hate their old lockers where they give you a key and you have to carry it around with you the entire time and then return it. It is a hassle and time consuming. I used to go to Lifetime in Brookfield and you were able to skip all of that because they had new lockers that you set a code for each time. They also had an outdoor parking lot. Lifetime had a much better cafe, an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, new equipment and just a better experience. With that being said, if you are going to the gym, carve out an extra 7-8 minutes to find parking, go up the elevators, walk, walk, walk, and get the key from the front desk for your locker.

Overall this gym is meh but there are very limited options downtown that fit my needs. If there was a Lifetime built in downtown Milwaukee I'd be gone in...

The Wisconsin Athletic Club downtown is pretty nice! I like it so far.

Unlike the other locations it is smaller, but it has its charms. First thing, the building itself offers great views of the city that you can appreciate when using their track or the treadmills. Members get access to many things besides using all the equipment such as sauna, showers, spacious locker rooms, basic toiletries, privacy, and a pretty chill atmosphere. Complimentary coffee and water are available.

Moreover, the WAC offers a variety of classes for all ages and abilities including Yoga, Barre, Cycling, and special classes for the season for an additional cost. Please, use the WAC App to keep track of the classes schedules and signing in. I’ve noticed they have raffles, challenges, and promotional events. Also, you can book a massage or request a session with a Personal Trainer which they can be complimentary when you sign up for their membership.

I selected 4/5 stars because you can find rundown equipment and gear, but other than that I think this location is pretty solid. Most staff members are super nice and welcoming and I feel pretty comfortable when working out. You will always spot someone vacuuming, tidying up, wiping down the equipment, and/or stacking up supplies.

On the other hand, showers were not necessary my favorite. The water temperature was not great for me and leaving the shower was a little too cold. That’s just how I felt it. I need to give them another chance.

Last but not least, parking!!! Please, take advantage of this. Please, download the App metropolis (purple and two upward arrows icon), use the building parking space, you just drive in and head to the elevator and get to the second floor (2) head towards the building elevator by walking through the lobby and dining area. Use the elevator that says the WAC (black doors) and press the sixth floor (6). Don’t forget to scan the QR code once at the front desk so the parking can be validated and you don’t get charged when you head out. Leaving the building is easier because once your vehicle is registered in the App the gate will open automatically. You can register up to...

Love the WAC! I joined last month and it’s been a great experience so far. Setting up my membership was very easy, and I was able to get multiple discounts, bringing my membership to a little over $60 a month. There’s a great selection of equipment and a lower level room that has more floor space. Just had my first personal training session with Taylor (you get two for free when you sign up) and it was amazing! Some of the machines give you a lot of information about your workouts. The locker rooms are super nice, I convince myself to go to the gym just so I can sit in the steam room or sauna after my workout. Definitely will be checking out...
