I have to say that the people who all work there are very nice. Thats what makes me sad with writing this review... But I am only writing this review because no one returned my phone call when I told them I was very disappointed in what had happened.
To make a long story short, I bought a Rolex watch from them for a Christmas gift for my wife. What a surprise.... The sad thing about it was it simply was not keeping time. I made mention of it and they said they would take a look at it.... They did and had it for 2 weeks. Said it was now fine. Well, once again, it did not keep time. I brought it in again and they showed me a different watch that was about $3,500 more expensive with the trade, but I bought it any way.
Well, sadley this watch did not keep time as well. I made mention of it to Gregg at the store so he was aware of it.. he also was aware that I could not bring it in right away because the wife had it in New Jersey.
Well, we finally brought it in because the Crystal was broken... I was told that the Crystal would be about $175.00 to replace...As for the watch not keeping time, I was told several times that that should be warranty.
I was told that the watch finally came back from repair 2 months later and that it appeared that I didn't owe anything except the crystal repair Well without speaking with me first, they charged my card over $630.00 and lied to me about the warranty and will not return my call
Very sad and disappointed and they now lost all my future business
Part two:
I did receive a call from Greg offering me a discount / credit to my card. I was told in a voicemail that they store was under the impression that the watch broke when it fell and cracked the crystal.... And now the store knows that the watch was not keeping time for at least 6 months to a year... I had made mentioned of it, but could not bring it in, being that it was in New Jersey.... and this was my second experience with this problem being that the first Rolex I purchased from them had the same problem. I was beginning to think that maybe the Rolex is made to look good, but not work good.....lol......
That being said, Greg mentioned that all I have to do is call the store for my credit... Well, thank you for that, but I feel I do not have to call the store and feel like I have to beg for my credit. I also feel that the store should of def had known of the watch not keeping time because I had made mention of it a few times to Greg and even talked about buying a watch winder thinking that could take care of the problem. I appreciate the fact that they want to credit my card, but simply just do it.... I don't need to make a phone call and hear how the store did not know about the watch not keeping time. That will only offend me knowing that they most certainly knew.....
But, to end this drama, I at least appeciate there calling me to make good on this. I will give credit where...
Read moreI have had an opportunity to work with Lorry Powers on several occasions for my jewelry needs. I came to Powers originally because I had experience owning a retail business and I enjoyed the tongue and cheek advertising aimed at quelching gimmick jewelry marketing and the concept that, with multiple stores, everyone is an owner. In fact, when you go into Powers, most of the people on the floor are family and stand up for for the quality of products in their store. They really do have a stake in the business so they want you to have a great experience.
I'm not sure about others, but aside from a few experiences, I was not a regular around jewelry stores. I would probably be considered apprehensive, but I was put completely at ease and allowed to explain my ideas, while Lorry came up with numerous suggestions to meet my needs. In some cases my ideas involved custom work and they were willing and able to make the ideas work.
In the photos below, I was fortunate to have another chance at marriage and I came to see Lorry about a ring for the occasion. I had some basic ideas and Lorry found several possibilities to meet the criteria. She was patient with me as I explored various diamond shapes and sizes and gave me room to make my choices instead of pushing something on me. At delivery time, the presentation was classy, the appraisal was ready and the GIA certification was presented. As you can see in the photos the ring was a total surprise and met with tears of enthusiasm. (She did say yes!)
The only negative is that my fiancé had injured her finger prior to our engagement, and with all of the effort to find the right size, the ring only fit her little finger. A couple of days later my fiancé had to travel and we went to visit Lorry in the morning before the flight, thinking we would leave it off at the store for resizing. Lorry told us to have some coffee and her goldsmith got the job done before the flight.

When I went to Powers with my girlfriends on a Saturday with no idea what I wanted in an engagement ring, he was the most patient, professional, and helpful guide to figuring out my perfect engagement ring. (And I was there for over an hour…) My fiancée also had the best experience ultimately buying the ring from Tim. This doesn’t even touch on the fact that I came back 3 times to look at wedding bands and ended up asking to exchange the one I bought less than a week later.
