CVS Pharmacy — Local services in New York

On Sunday when the only open pharmacy was this one... I had just visited City MD urgent care with acute respiratory distress. The doctor at city MD prescribed me steroids and nebulization liquid with instruction to take the steroids asap. I got to this pharmacy and the reception told me the prescription is not in the system. She asked me to go to another window. At that window, a pharmacist named Maria took my name, found my prescription and checked my insurance. She then very rudely told me 'not to expect this to be filled asap... there would be a wait of min 3mins'. So I stood and waited- only 3 chairs which were already occupied by waiting customers. After 30mins, I checked with the receptionist again, she went behind the counter to ask Maria..and I could hear Maria saying..'it will take some time.. if she can't wait, she can go somewhere else'. After 45mins of waiting, coughing and standing around- I went to Maria and asked about the prescription. Then another pharmacist checked my details again and asked me who told me to wait. Maria piped in and said she had. The other pharmacist noted that there was no 'QP' or priority or whatever on the prescription and told me to wait\n..that it would be out in 10mins.. so after 1 hour of waiting, listening to other people also going through the same rude and brusk attitude of the pharmacists..I got my prescription. While I waited, there was a man, clearly in distress..said he had pneumonia...waiting...they had some issues with his prescription which he managed to sort out by calling his other pharmacist and getting them to talk to these people. There was an OAP who didn't have as much luck...after attempting to get their attention, he gave up and left after 20mins. \nThis is seriously unacceptable. \nThere was a rude bearded man who kept fobbing people off asking them to 'take their complaints to the other counter' - which was Maria and this other pharmacist...some people had been back 2nd day and still hadn't found their prescription. \n\nCvS is not my chosen pharmacy. Wallgreens is. I had to go here because of an emergency and because this was the only pharmacists open on Sunday.\n\nHowever, this is totally unacceptable. \nI complained to the store Manger on my way out. She said she knew the pharmacy team were rude and had multiple complaints raised by customers.\n\nPlease DO something.\nThis is totally unacceptable and almost criminal..someone could be seriously hurt in their condition if they don't get medication in time.\n\nOh! And btw, Maria did 'FastTrack' one couples prescription while I waited...heard the gentleman asking them if they wanted anything to drink back there. Guess bribery...

Pros: nice offers, nice application, care pass is a good idea. Lucky the cashier is awesome and very helpful, everyone “at the cashier & entrance ” are smiling. The staff are very helpful. A lot of things are available as cat food. It is open 24 hours.

Cons: items are expensive (but the offers sometimes help). some of the pharmacists are unfriendly at all and very tough, burned out and don’t care.

To emphasise, the pharmacists took a lot of time to answer the phone and when they answer the problem was never solved. (Once a male pharmacist stayed with me on the line while dealing with the in-store customers for more than 45 minutes because he wasn’t paying attention to me and was busy).

A very long queue to take your medication especially after 12 noon, so if I have to go, I usually go early between 9 and 11 am.

Bottom line, I don’t like the pharmacy at all but I like the store. I choose another competitive pharmacy to issue my medication as the other one is so easy to be contacted and my medication will be shipped in less than one day with the least...

This store has employees that practice Racial Discrimination and no one should visit this store until they get more training and better employees.

I walked into the store not too long after it opened to purchase some toilet paper. Coming in I was asked by an employee if I needed any help finding anything. I have been there several times before and knew where they kept the toilet paper so I told him "no, I'm just getting some toilet paper" and continued to where they kept it. He followed me and then called 911 and told stated they have a shoplifter in the store and to send someone over. I was insulted at the accusation so I verbally insulted the man for making the assumption and left. I intend to follow up with the Human Rights Commission so hopefully something changes there. If you are an African American and are doing shopping in this area, do not use this store. They do not...
