First time there was this past Sunday. place looks clean very quiet. computer room as soon as you enter the building. Locker room downstairs very little space not that it matters but it is a small building so its understandable. Weight room third floor ping pong table as well. Something really cool i saw was a indoors tennis gym, another room with Yoga classes music and trainers.I know the place has a swimming pool. As far as the running machines there is about 10 of them different ones from sitting and pedaling to running. I was not impressed with the weights. that was the main reason i signed up. not enough weights or work out machines just a few. coming from a gym like planet fitness this place needs to step it up with the varieties of weights and work outs they have. I was not impressed expected more from a place like this especially in midtown Manhattan. I really liked how there was only about 3 people in the lifting room everything was available for the first half hour i was in there. Then it just got a bit crowded since it it a small area i just left. I guess its all about picking the right time to work out. I'am currently enrolled in this gym and i will continue attending this place. Really nice staff and people to meet...
Read moreLimited weight, & plentiful aerobic, equipment, + padded-floor space for stretching + PT exercises (w/little-to-no waiting) is a great setup for anyone working back toward a regular weight training schedule. I haven't noticed a lot of assistance for someone starting from scratch.
At the beginning of COVID, I outfitted a basic home workout setup [non-invasive: components store easily | don't overwhelm a Manhattan apartment] – Therabands, elastic tubing clip & handle exercise set, hand weights, yoga exercise ball + mats, Pilates blocks + rings, foam rollers, under-desk "elliptical" pedaler. That, + mat Pilates (via Zoom) kept me sane + somewhat active, for 18 months.
Now, City Rec's limited life® weight exercise machines + multiple full-size pedaling + walking/running equipment, which I've never seen crowded, are the perfect addition, to start working back towards a full-on weight training exercise program. So close/convenient I can head over just to sit on a "bike" for 20-30 min, if that's what I have time for.
I don't use, but there's also a pool, basketball/volleyball court, locker+shower facilities & large outdoor playground for...
Read moreCame here last week with some of my friends. They r all really cute twinks and as a guy I absolutely love swimming with other guys shirtless. We got here and did my favorite thing which was getting changed in the locker room. I love watching my friends all shirtless hot guys get changed. We went swimming in the pool and had a hell of a great time . We saw the pool drains in the deep end and got really nervous and scared. They were CREEPY! I swore they were gonna suck us down into the backrooms. Yea we stayed away from them because they were soooky . The staff here was really friendly and accepting of us super gay slay queens. We will most definitely be returning here as the pool water was warm and the facility was super clean . Below is pics of the creepy drains as well as me and the boys hanging out...
