Glossier NYC — Local services in New York

Glossier opened a physical location on Spring Street in NYC last week, so my daughter requested we visit since it's one of her favorite brands. The store has a queue outside (10-15 minute average rate) because they control the number of people inside at a given time. Staff monitoring the queue was friendly, and one was even handing out Glossier stickers. Once inside, customers can try out the wares to help decide what they want. The store also includes some exclusive items like sweatshirts, water bottles, makeup bags, etc. Some of the exclusive items generate donations towards a local charity/ cause. Once a customer knows what they want to purchase, wandering store associates take the order on a tablet, and the customer pays for their purchase right on the tablet's scanner. Then, the customer goes to the lounge in the back and waits for their order to be called. The lounge area is comfy, and there's even a metal "newspaper box" containing an issue of a Glossier newspaper. An associate behind the counter calls the customer's name when their order is ready. Orders are packed in cute pink Glossier bags. If one has a larger order and their items are put in a large bag, more stickers are included in the bag as an extra goodie. In the opposite back corner of the store, there is a selfie station modeled after a subway station. It has a gorgeous tiled wall with a bench in front of it, where people can take cute pics. (Makes a great shot for social media posts, for sure!) It's a fun experience & my daughter was excited to go get the exclusive NYC items. Unfortunately for her, the three items she wanted most were all out of stock. (Which is the only reason I knocked...

Yesterday was my first visit at this Glossier location and it was so cute!

A few things I wanted to add from my experience if you're visiting for the first time:

1.) You might have to wait outside before being let in because they only allow a certain amount of guests inside. I My visit was on a Saturday so that might make a difference, but I don't think we waited longer than 15 minutes to get in!

2.) The store consists of different makeup/skincare products testers that you can try! (This also includes a room with a sink for any products you want to wash off)

3.) There's an open area in the back left corner of the store where you can sit while you wait for your order

4.) There's a subway themed photo op area in the right corner at the end of the main area that was really cute!

5.)For the check out process I just grabbed the samples on display of the things I wanted to purchase and found a staff member to help me check out. I'm not entirely sure if this is how the check out process works but I wanted to try and make it easier for the employees so they knew exactly which products I wanted rather than having to search on their tablets

6.) The staff members I encountered during my visit were all super friendly and ready to help out with anything! I can't say enough about how fantastic and kind Kenny was and made my experience at this Glossier location even better!

Overall I definitely recommend this Glossier location if you're visiting the area! It's a unique and fun experience...

Such a beautiful store and amazing customer service. Today I wanted to use a very old gift card I received from a friend for $20 to buy the stretch concealer. However, when clicking on the button to redeem, there was an issue - the link would not load and I was afraid the gift credit had run out.

It turned out that Glossier gift cards don't expire - they just switched over their gift card system and they went out of their way to validate my credit, even when they couldn't track it back to an email in their system - they saw on my phone that I had the gift card from Dec. 2020 and that was enough.

Even with those complications (on a busy Saturday), they were always the utmost kind to me and apologized for me having to wait. 3 associated assisted me, including Erika.

P.S. I also love the concept of the store! It feels so personal and special when they bring out your order in a lovely pink bag with your name written on it. :) Thank you...
