Booked a test online, called to ask questions about what type of testing they would do for my sample to ensure the highest accuracy, and asked whether I could choose urine or vaginal swab. I was informed that I can choose either, at any testing center, and that I shouldn’t receive any push back. I called to confirm this because last time I booked a test, I was told vaginal swabs weren’t available.
So I go in for my appointment, they were very prompt in calling me back which was amazing. But the staff told me I couldn’t do a vaginal swab and that only urine is available (I prefer the swab because it’s about 5% more accurate). I told them I called and was informed that I could choose. They argued with me for a while, saying that this isn’t a doctors office, and then one of the ladies went and found a swab. They argued more back and forth in what sounded like Mandarin, and then finally set up the paperwork and labels. I think maybe they were thinking that I was asking them to swab me, which of course I wasn’t. I know it’s a self swab. Or maybe most people just don’t ask for swabs. I don’t know. It’s probably not their fault, but a lack of training and information from higher ups.
I did get a swab but I didn’t like that I had to push so hard to take the test that I paid for the way I should be...
Read moreAs a non US citizen who has never done a blood draw in this country, I was quite apprehensive after reading some of the reviews here. Overall however, I had a great experience with Quest on Centre Street. I didn’t realise when I arrived that I’d booked for the wrong date. So I had to check in as a walk in. I expected a 30-60 minute wait but was called within five minutes. Andre did my blood draw and was AMAZING! I have a lot of challenges when I need to get my bloods done with small veins that jump and extremely reactive skin and allergies so it’s generally quite a stressful experience for me.
Andre confidently told me it would be fine after I explained all the issues I usually have. I didn’t believe him but it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I barely felt the needle go in, he drew the blood effortlessly. Within minutes it was all over. I felt relieved and surprised at the ease of the process. If I could carry him around to all my blood draw appointments I would! I also want to mention the clinic was very clean. Not rundown at all. A little tricky to find. It’s in a Chinese wellness centre with many offices so make sure you go to level 2. I received my test results 24...

I'm having some weakness and faint issue, so I asked my boyfriend to queue for me(cuz I will become very nervous and faint in a indoor setting recently - haven't figure out why yet) while I'm waiting dowmstairs in the car. They don't allow such a 'queue for others' thing although it takes only 1 min for me to get upstairs and my boyfriend has explained thoroughly to them what is happening and the potential risk. We understand that it might be the rules that they cannot wait for us for even 1 min, but the woman specimen right besides the kiosk was especially rudd and mean, even scolded us in Chinese. I felt quite angry, weak and even about to pass out (cuz I'm fasting for too long and my low calcium and low pth problem made me easily faint so i couldn't really control it). The nurses scolded us using very impolite and mean words.
Especially uncaring, mean and rude nurses(maybe some were good, but the one we encountered was so bad), we didn't feel any respect at all. Avoid this place!
PS: I rarely leave...
