Threshold’s new location is such a perfect area for the studio. It’s in the heart of Manhattan but a couple avenues up so it’s not a very noisy area or as busy as others which makes it very ideal. There is also more cheap of a parking lot a block up as well as a parking garage if you’re traveling in.

This studio has every type of necessary equipment, essentials and extra. They also have a wide range of gear to choose from. They also have special recording booths for any type of instrument. It’s very impressive and one of the best studios around the city.

Derek is an extremely personable, friendly engineer. He is engaged in the work and an expert at his craft. He gives great suggestions and treats his work with integrity and professionalism. He was able to give me suggestions and take the lead at times on what is best and I deeply appreciate that and the genuine collaboration. Nothing but respect for one of the best studios that will continue to thrive.

Words cannot describe how great my experience with Threshold Studios was. I can't thank them enough for being there for us and absolutely hooking us up. I was working on the original score for a film. Budget constraints were going to leave us with a lot less studio time than we needed, but James and the guys from Threshold Studios were unbelievably gracious and essentially donated the remainder of the time that we needed to finish the soundtrack. For someone to believe in this music and this film enough to help us out in that way is one of the greatest feelings I've ever known as a musician and an artist. It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else. To be able to share your music and sound to a team of strangers can be overwhelming. James and the staff at a Threshold Recording Studios led my child to uncover her signature sound. Their patience, honesty and unique approach enabled her to come out of her comfort zone and reveal what mattered most in her music.
