TLDR: very rude service and terrible communication, would not recommend My friend and I went for the bogo deal that was promoted on their Instagram. The nail designs on their Instagram were very complicated with gems and 3D designs, different colors etc. and was promoted as $90, with bogo making it $45 per person. I booked an appt at 11:15 am but we weren’t seated until 12 pm. All 4 nail techs were in the middle of working with other clients. I felt even worse for the girls who booked an 11:30 appt and came in after us because they had to wait even longer. Why book appointments within 15 minute windows when you only have 4 nail techs? When we showed the designs we wanted (which were similar to the ones shown on Instagram) we were told it would be $160+. We were confused because many of the posts said it would be $90. The nail tech clarified that the designs cost $5-10 per each nail but it was frustrating that they promoted these complicated designs as costing $90/$45 per person through the bogo deal. We ended up choosing less complicated designs (chrome and 3D for one nail) but the nail tech kept telling us it would be more expensive and wouldn’t listen when we said we were okay with paying more for the designs. We went back and forth for probably 10 minutes trying to explain the simple design we wanted and that we were okay with paying for it. They way she was speaking to us implied that she wanted us to leave and didn’t want to do the designs we asked for. It was incredibly frustrating. My nail tech also cut part of the skin under my nail. The design ended up being $110, with the bogo deal it ended up being $55 per person. I would absolutely not pay $110 for this service. I understand they are a new business and overwhelmed with new customers but it’s on them for their misleading marketing and overall rude service. 4 other women came in while I was there with the same confusion about the $90 bogo deal costing more than was stated in their Instagram posts.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews about this place. I’ve been here twice so far. Once for their $48 gel mani and gel pedi July promo. It was $58 before tip with previous gel removal. I returned today in August and they were still honoring the $48 promotion (Not sure when it will end). They did not charge for removal because the gel on my nails was done at their salon before. I should’ve made an appointment because they don’t have a big space, but I was luckily able to walk in both times around 5pm. I still don’t know the name of my technician, but I had the same girl twice and I think she does a really good job, especially at this price point! If you’re not getting any special gel, extensions, or designs, you really can’t go wrong with UMI nails. If you’re not sure of the price and need transparency, just ask before your appointment.

My nail tech was skillful and efficient. My nails were unhealthy and brittle, but she gave them a new life. I got a cherry blossom colored cat eye with a gradient of pink. Their store is conveniently located in Flushing, only 4-minute walk from Main St station. It was hidden in a mall up the stairs — a literal hidden gem. I’ve been painting my own nails in the past as I couldn’t find a good nail salon with a reasonable pricing. The nail art I chose is 30% off to the pricing of the other nail salons. I visited during their anniversary promotion—$79.99 for any design (except 3D and complicated art)—and it was do worth the price. The whole process took me slightly over an hour. I’ll definitely go back for another set of nail art.

This new salon has been all over IG and their grand opening deals are amazing especially their $48 gel mani/pedi deal that you can’t miss out on. But, you get what you pay for.

The service and quality is extremely mediocre or close to terrible. The whole time I was there, it was empty and no customers walked in but the nail tech still rushed my job. It was so rushed that when she removed my regular red polish off my nails, the remains blended with the acetone were all over my fingers. She did it blindly and I had to tell her twice that there’s still paint. Also, weird how they don’t apply cuticle oil or lotion in their manicure services? The gel pedicure took 15 mins or less. I still feel the callus under my heels. The worst part is that she left bad cuts on my fingers and toes, she cut my skin 3 times!! I still feel the cuts typing this right now. I had to leave this place with bloody cuticles on my hands and feet. Again, why are you rushing m’am?! The paint job was ok, it looks like I could have done it myself.

I’m getting the vibe that they’re a shady business. They know their grand opening deals are impossible to find in today’s economy that they’re purposely giving you mediocre services and skipping steps to accommodate for...
