Most of the reviews that I'm seeing on here are pretty harsh. While that's not totally consistent with my experience, there's definitely a couple things that kept my experience from being great. I do think the positives outweigh the negatives though. I went a few days ago to fight a ticket for registration that I felt was too extreme. I clearly should have just gotten a warning.
The best thing about my visit was Judge Clay Stucki. He was fantastic. Even though I can tell he initially thought it was kind of silly that I was in court for registration, he heard me out and was very understanding. He decided to cut the charge in half. I was hoping that they'd be dropped but I can't be too mad. He made a fair judgement based off of correct principles and his own understanding.
I can't say the same for my prosecutor. I tried to look for his name online but I couldn't find anything. I believe his name was Ion. He is so bad at his job. I explained the situation and he basically told me to just give up and pay the fine. He said about three or four times, "It's just an infraction. It's just $50. You shouldn't care this much." I told him that I was still correct about my innocence so I wanted to move forward with court.
We did the court trial and the judge cut the charge, the prosecutor went nuts after that. He started shouting at the judge all because he didn't get his way. This blew my mind for a couple of reasons. The first being that the whole time he told me that it was just an infraction and that I shouldn't care about it, then the second things didn't go his way, he sure as heck cared a lot. I thought it wasn't a big deal but it obviously was to him for some reason.
The second reason why his behavior amazed me is because he works in law. (In a courtroom no less.) How do you lose your cool that easily? You should probably find a new profession bud. In a courtroom setting, you should be used to things not always going the way you want them to. His behavior was immature and unprofessional. I hope and pray that he faces some sort of consequences for them.
The reception desk employees are great but the card system they use is not. It kept coming up as an "error payment" on the computer. I told them I would pay it online which I did but afterwards I got a call saying that it actually did take the payment. We got it figured out and the employees were wonderful and kind.
I know this review seems pretty negative but I actually did have a good experience here. I just think it's important to highlight people who do a great job and people who do a poor job. That way things...
Read moreLiterally some of the rudest, least professional people I've ever dealt with. Trying to ask questions and get clarifications, and their only interest is to interrupt you, condescend, and get you off the phone.
They admit NO guilt when they do things wrong, for example:
They sent my ticket info and court info to the wrong address because it was the one on my driver's license... despite being VERY clear with them (including the officer) that it is a part time home that we no longer live in permanently.
Then they suspended my license, and after clearing everything up they forgot to tell me that I still had to pay an additional fee to get my license reinstated. That led to a suspended license for over 7 months that I knew NOTHING about. I received NO notices in the mail, via email, or in any other manner.
The rudeness of these people is only exceeded by their...
Read moreI was given misinformation by the city prosecutor. She told me I have to deal with the drivers license division to prevent a speeding ticket from affecting my driving record when I was supposed to talk to the judge about it. The clerk acted annoyed and bothered when I asked simple questions. Judge stucki was awesome. The judge didnt want to see ppl go to jail and I could tell he genuinely wanted to help ppl. The prosecutor didn't like how the judge was helping ppl and was passive aggressive towards everyone. She called some lady a liar and the judge still helped the lady by reducing the fine and...
