I had never been in a Great American Cookies store. While waiting for Dillard's Department store to open at Pier Park, two of us decided a pretzel sounded good. Looking at the directory, Great American Cookies was close, it offered pretzels, we we made the short walk to the store.
It was a delightful experience. The pretzels came with a variety of options. Despite the various options, we opted for a regular cup of the plain pretzel bites. These are small, big bite sized pretzels. They are different than the regular pretzels commonly seen in grocery stores and they taste better.
They were very fresh. They were soft and cooked to perfection. One cup does not sound like a big order but the two of us split the cup and a coke and we were very satisfied.
The pretzels were worth thinking about and returning because they were served hot and fresh and almost melted in the mouth.
The staff was very friendly. Other options included a variety of cookies and cakes.
The restaurant was very small but very neat, clean and attractively decorated.
A small place, a limited menu with food that was perfect, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. It was worth a visit. I am looking forward to...
Read moreI am fairly certain we were bothering them by entering the Pier Park store. Did the buy 5 and get 1 free deal along with a specialty cookie. We were rudly told the specialty cookie didn't count as one of the 5. Okay. No problem. Until I got home and shared the cookies with my family after dinner. The chocolate fudge cookie had nuts in it. Yea, not good for me. The actual chocolate tasted like it was cheap chocolate from a dollar store. Think Palmers only worse. They have confused a soft cookie for a way underbaked cookie. The regular chocolate chip was still Crunchy inside from uncooked sugar. At $14+ for 7 cookies? Lesson learned. VILE NEVER AGAIN. Oh and kneading dough with no gloves or...
Read moreWe used to come here all the time especially since the one in the mall is no longer there. We had been going since the old owners were there. However, since ownership has changed so have the cookies. Unfortunately, the last few times we have gone, the cookies have been stale and hard. We went today and our double doozies were hard as rocks, like barely could be eaten. It's like they had been sitting there and were old. It's tasted similar to this before, but these were the worst. We miss the way the cookies used to taste, but maybe we just haven't gotten lucky the last few times we have gone. Will always give it...
