Quick Stop Market — Local services in San Diego

There are negative reviews on Yelp and Google which accurately describe the arrogance, rudeness and disrespect of the staff of this business towards our customers which are the lifeblood of any business.

After being a long time supporter of this Iraqi immigrant business I have had to change my opinion because of the absolute rudeness and unfriendliness of the younger family members who now staff the store.

What was once a well-run family business has been run into to the ground by the younger generation that has no respect has no concept of kindness to customers and could care less about their elder family members investments.

There are several other laundromats,/markets that are cheaper and more polite..... I will not return to this place and I recommend you don't either

Today I came and spent $40 .....$20 on overpriced laundry (5.50 washers?) and $20 for a sandwich (also very overpriced). The younger woman making the sandwich named Julia asked me rudely "how much tip you give me if I make sandwich" ... That smacked of a greedy mercenary... That is both uncalled for and rude.

The 2 younger (30 -something) Iraqi men who work here are, and have always been rude, arrogant, and condescending especially to Americans. Reverse racism in action. They spend their entire time yelling in Arabic to each other, ignoring customers.

The people preparing food don't even wear gloves or hair nets, in violation of health regulations, I found a hair on my sandwich.

Despite several complaints the staff allowed some filthy homeless woman to unload and organize, in tweaker fashion, all of her shopping cart belongings blocking the door and part of the deli eating area. Obviously, they have no standards, and do not care a bit about their regular normal...

Gaslamp Deli, & Quick Stop, are at the same place. The Google Maps/Place listing, Gaslamp Deli, is better info (suggest use that). The big storefront sign (awning) shows Quick Stop. The deli is there inside.

(2016 Dec 27) Very good hours (for non-24hrs). Has Boar's Head deli counter, makes fresh sandwiches & food, customizable. Nice selection of prepared & packaged foods, ready to go, also. Has Thrifty ice cream counter, scoops in cups or cones. (8 flavors available when I visited.) Has small seating area outside, a few tables. ATM. Lotto, lottery.

Laundromat & laundry cleaning services next door (connected space). If need more coins for laundry/laundromat machines, can get from the store (cashier/staff).

Located by Horton Plaza Mall (same block, east side, on 4th Ave.). Near Balboa Theater, Horton Plaza Park, Lyceum theater, & Gaslamp area downtown.

Tips. Extra charge when using electronic payment (like credit or debit card) (so you can consider saving money if pay by cash).

This place rips people off. I purchased two bottles of water and hair ties from this store. I was given a receipt after requesting several times. The total on the receipt was $5.12. My bank card was charged $14.98! The guy at the counter knew what he was doing. That's why he was so reluctant to give me a receipt. I think he assumed I was foreign and wouldn't know better. Luckily, my bank text messages me every time I make a purchase; that's how...
