Browser Books — Local services in San Francisco

A classic narrow bookstore. Stopped by here after a casual walk down Filmore on a Saturday night in a crowded city. I am not a book person but everyone else in the family is. I worked at one, but I am bad at reading. I like the atmosphere of bookstores. Makes me feel smart to be in one or to be seen in one. What's nice about this one is how cozy it is. In addition, you can feel how well run it is. Details such as the "Blind Date" books are fun. My only real complaint... their graphic novel section is really small and does not contain any mainstream graphic novels from DC or Marvel. Seems kind of elite-ish for my taste. I won't ding them...

ok store. very charming. next to cafe. but! book selection is just bad. you are in technology and venture capital of the world, and not a single programming or tech or business book? cmon. no science books either. no good picture books for gifts souvenirs. no strong classics. no strong famous academic books. no good periodicals like Bloomberg. whatever books present are just such weak selection. I want to buy books but they are so lame here. nothing...

Blatant racism each and every time I walk in this store. Quite ironic for a bookstore that parades diverse authors while at least one cashier has made snide comments when I bought several books by said authors. Every other has watched me while I browsed without exception. I have tried hard to give this place a chance as it’s in my neighborhood but at this point it’s sickening. So called “woke” culture and white liberals...
