I have ordered a chair from this store. The delivery was messed up. First of al, they emailed me a range of dates overlapping with my travel. When I emailed the store assistant to change the dates, they did not even respond. When the chair was finally delivered (on the date of my departure on my business trip), it was dumped on the 1st floor, and I live or the 3rd floor. I had to scramble to find how I cat get the chair delivered to my apartment. The prices they charge do not correspond to the quality they provide.
Update: I had to place the order three times, and every times they managed to mess it up -- the product was not up to specifications. The order confirmation email lists a bunch of internal codes, and there is not way for an outsider to check whether it is what you ordered or not.
Instead of honoring the original order, they made me place a new one, and the company wide price increases happened in between. They conveniently forgot about discounts that company was offering and I had to chase them. The last price quote was for about $1700. And mind you, I had to pay someone to drag the chairs on the 3rd floor each time.
The FedEx delivery gives a 12 hour window (8am-8pm) for delivery, because of the method Herman Miller selected. This means that you will have to stay at home for 12 hours waiting for them.
Each time the wrong order came, I had to return it (another 12 hour window with FedEx). And the refunds were not 100%. They kept some of my money. I had to resolve the issue through my credit card. But what if I paid cash from my debit card?
The manager was unhelpful and rude. When they send me a wrong order for the third time, I asked for a serious price adjustment, given the fact that I had to take time off to receive deliveries and paid for the heavy stuff to be lugged upstairs. I finished selecting my chair and was working on a quote with the sales. He told me that he can do adjustment the quote to get 15% off and adjust the shipping to $30 or waive. The shipping was shown as $49 and he told me it is an error, it shall be $30. He asked me to call back the next day when his manager is in store to set the final quote.
I did call and he told me that he can do nothing for shipping fee, will be $49. But will give 15% off. I confirmed that the quote will be valid for 30 days. Then he followed up with an email saying the 15% will only valid for 2 days. I have to pay today or tmw. I will never order...

I worked with Don, who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient through the process of showing me different chairs, their control mechanisms, and their options, and also recommended some considerations to take into account to find my best fit. I did not feel pressured at all to buy anything on-the-spot (for which I'm very appreciative), but was given the option to make an order or to take a quote for a couple items with me.
