The bad reviews on this place are laughable. Do you people hear yourself? “They got mad because I didn’t go through the ENTRANCE! Haha or “I’ve been doing this forever, so they should just let me”. As far as the returns people I haven’t had many returns to Costco but I understand that businesses change policies. I’m not going to 1 star this place because I have to now scan my card at the entrance and walk through a register to get my hotdog. It doesn’t take any more time than flashing the card used to. The endless complaining about “Poor Me, I Can’t go enter through the exit anymore” is asinine. I’ve had nothing but decent quality help from Staff that, honestly, a lot of times looks like they’re short staffed. They still seem to smile and help me with whatever I need. I’ve seen them low on boxes up front at times but here’s a novel idea w!…… I now grab my own boxes while I’m in the produce area and bring them to the register myself. Any of you cry babies ever heard the phrase “The customer is always right!?” Hahaha, well that was coined by Harry Selfridge in 1909. It ain’t 1909 and Costco ain’t Selfridges. It’s ridiculous now days to think the customer is always right. We’re not! Make the change within yourself to pick better battles and maybe look at how you are acting when employees are just trying to do as they’re told. You’re not that important! A company shouldn’t have to skate around your “preferences”. So if you're the type to leave a 1 star review because you can’t grasp the concept that there’s an Entrance and an Exit and they should be used as exactly that then maybe your life doesn’t have real problems. I came to write this review because I witnessed a customer at Sandy Costco today berate an employee because he didn’t “box things in the best way” Box it yourself then moron! As a society we have become numb to the feelings of others or the concepts that “Things Change”. Learn to adapt. After all, if you stopped crying about how they make you use the entrance now to go to the bathroom or food area you’d probably already be on your way out of the store with your food in hand. I will continue to support this location because I find it refreshing! I left off the 5th star because the parking lot is pretty bad at times. However, it won’t kill me to walk a little further...
Read moreI give Costco 5 stars for a very narrow complication of benefits regarding a very few things that set them apart from most department stores that do not require a membership, as well as the other membership clubs such as Sam's Club. For instance when I needed a car battery I was able to pay for my membership and a car battery of high standard and quality, an Interstate brand automobile battery, for less than the cost of an off-brand automobile battery fit my particular vehicle that needed the battery at the time and got a better warranty from Costco. On occasion they will have items that I really like to have which are not available at other stores and I'm willing to pay for a membership to be able to get those specific items which I can't get at other department stores. However, most of the membership year, throughout the year, due to the fact that at this time in life it's just my wife and I, as "empty-nesters" the cost of membership ofttimes seems to not be a benefit, when the prices which we pay, per item or piece, seems to be as much if not greater than what we can pay at the local grocery store and department stores. Therefore, in Costco's niche, with their specialized items and occasional stunning deals on certain items, Costco is a five-star "membership club" deal. However, only in those niche areas I find particularly beneficial to me. I would add also, that those 18-inch pizzas they offer in their food court are a particularly nice benefit even though it does not require membership to be able to go in and get one of their pizzas. This is one of those things that actually make people, like me, want to go ahead and be members of Costco. The caveat: I recommend that rather than just going for all the stuff you can buy in bulk at Costco, shop around and check your regular department stores that do not require you to purchase a membership because oftentimes you can get what you need for less and have to purchase as much as you need and not buy all that extra BULK. An excess amount (to get the "good deal") that you and I know will eventually...
