Kucumber Skin Lounge — Local services in Seattle

This is going to be a long review, but I cannot say enough GOOD THINGS about this place!!! I’ve lived in Washington for about 15 months and I think Kucumber Skin Lounge is my second home at this point. Every single person I’ve seen/ interacted with is AMAZING and F R I E N D L Y! I’ve been to other medical spas/ aestheticians and have had less than ideal experiences, but never a bad time being here. They literally treat you like family and don’t try to force you to do anything you aren’t comfortable with or haven’t asked about. Shoutouts to Teddy and Laura specifically! (And lovely Deana up front ♥️)

Teddy has been doing Coolsculpt for me and I am now 3 sessions in. I did upper arms and am doing back as well. I’ll have to add photos when I’m capable (currently in the middle of session 3) and the results are ASTOUNDING. I have had nothing but good times being here, and Teddy is knowledgeable, gentle, and fun! After my first coolsculpt session, I had a kaleidoscope of bruises and swelling (as expected), but when I was done with the second session, Teddy used the Viktor Michael serum on my treated areas and I had the bare minimum bruising, which was a welcome surprise. I used the VK serum after I did fractional lasering as well and it is a godsend! Worth it.

Laura has been helping me with my laser hair removal and fractional laser treatments. She is SO professional and sweet. She’s comforting, informative, and easy to talk to. She ensures during somewhat uncomfortable/ painful procedures (lasers ARE involved, after all) that you are comfortable and will provide you with any assistance she can, while being diligent and thorough.

If you made it through my entire review, thanks!! Overall, I genuinely love this location and I can’t foresee changing medical spas EVER as long as I get to see the lovely people here at Kucumber...

Friendly at first visit, downhill from there. Completed 3 years of services and entire time, received poor customer service including making false promises of service results, bought thousands of dollars pushed by Dimitria with again poor service and false promises. not helping when I brought up concerns during last argument after I scheduled with Dimitria services appointment for my daughter and staff doing the wrong procedure Dimitria stated "I don't recall conversations" and then complained that I was attacking her. I still had $1700 worth of treatments that I switched to laser treatments. Per the price Dimitria gave me at that time i had money left. Next time I went of course she said "I don't remember", but she assured me that will talk to Rachel to see if she remember something. Next time I went, that's correct she didn't remember anything.. A few weeks later she called me saying that I requested to talk to her. I asked her for the answers about my money left for services. Dimitria stated "I already told you that you owe us money" She didn't even remember that she said "I need to talk to Rachel about it" I aske a year ago to speak with someone else and she gave me a phone number in Settle and a name. But she Never talked to me, after many promises of returning my call from the staff in Seattle they said that she said "i left her a voicemail" and i never received it. Then the person answering said " the person you want to talk to is very busy. If you want to make a complaint you have to do it with Dimitria in Bellingham" This is my last year of services with them. I am just waiting to use all yhe money in treatments Dimitria sold to me with...

I got the 4 sessions package of combo underarms and Brazilian laser hair removal. I just got done with the first session with Laura, and it was leaps and bounds a better experience than Laseraway, which I did about 5 years ago back in NY. The Laseraway set gave me about 50% reduction, so that's why I wanted to do another set at another place.

Laura was attentive and careful, explained all the steps, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable. She did a patch test with different laser strengths, adjusted to my skin type. Doing Brazilian puts you in pretty vulnerable positions, but I was comfortable with Laura.

I shaved before the session, but I didn't do a good enough job, and Laura was able to help me clean up the rest before lasering; this was something that no one at laseraway bothered to do for me. Apparently, the closer the shave, the better the result because maximum strength of the laser would be able to penetrate through. I'm suspecting that this was why I only got 50% reduction before.

In terms of pain level: underarm doesn't hurt. Brazilian does hurt. Not at the level of waxing, however, and it lasts wayyy longer and don't have to worry about ingrown hair. Certain areas are more painful than others, so it's not all bad. A stress ball and pausing every 5th counts help.

Overall, I definitely had a good experience here. For those with some more questions or reservations about the treatment, I'd reach out and ask! They were super helpful, and I felt no pressure to make a decision right...
