I used to be completely hooked on Elleno's and went to the stand on Uwajimaya literally everyday after my bf was done with class up on Cap Hill. We were absolutely hooked on the marionberry pie and the lemon curd both of which had their signature cookie crumble mixed into them. We also loved the people that worked at the stand and so it was always fun to go as well as yummy.....then it wasn't anymore. No more stand at uwajimaya and it was in grocery stores only. No cookie crumble to be seen for the first couple of years and then they half *ssed it by putting it on the top in separate sealed portions on the top of some flavors but never marionberry or lemon ever again. At some point it just stopped being good at all nor worth the exorbitant price tag that was now being thrown at us. I literally went from not ever having enough of the stuff to not even wanting to take a bite of any of it ever again.
Last Sunday at the West Seattle Farmers Market, I stumbled across the reason Elleno's now sucks: Hellenika! The guy and girl working the stand were so friendly and helpful in answering my 20 questions about who they were regarding how this was the creation of the previous siblings that had started and eventually left Elleno's to go on to make the heavenly goodness that is Hellenika because they weren't on the same page anymore with the changes that were taking place regarding the product.
After hearing that, I definitely wanted to try what they were offering and omg the marionberry Greek yogurt they make is out of this world. A million times better then Elleno's and this is has no cookie crumble in it either. I had to exercise my self control to the max after that because I wanted my bf to try some when I got home but since it was the end of the day and they were closing up, I could only buy 1. I managed to save him a few bites and we have literally spent this entire last week counting down the days till Sunday when the farmers market comes again and we can get more because its all we can think about .
This is by far, the best I have ever had and is second to none.
I think...

I reached out to 6 different creameries in the Seattle area to cater a company event, and Hellenika was by far the easiest company to work with that catered to my needs. It was a one-stop shop. Hellenika has customizable options, such as including compostable cups and spoons, dry ice to keep the ice cream cold, a fun selection of toppings with plenty of tasty and local options from Pike Place, delivery, and more! At other shops, they only provided the product and made you pick it up.
Hellenika's product really does deserve to be called its own special product - "Cultured Gelato". It's tangy, it's soft, it's simply delicious with unforgettable flavors. We served Ube Coconut, London Fog, and POG at the party and every flavor was a hit.
Lastly, I have to shout out, with true genuity, that Hellenika makes you feel like family. I connected with Connie and she was so patient with me while she helped me figure out how Hellenika could best cater to this company party. They also let me pop into the Pike Place shop for a tasting and I am so blown away by the customer service they provided. Sydney, the manager, brought me in and let me try as many flavors as I wanted. She was so warm, inviting, answered all my questions, and fostered an environment that made it feel like a friend was treating me to a good time.
The next time you're in Pike Place, don't forget to stop by Hellenika to experience the "Hellenika Hello" and gelato joy at this...
Read moreThere's some very good frozen yogurt (honestly, not entirely sure what it is) at this place near Pike Place Market. It's one of the spots that probably deserves the line it usually has
Each yogurt/ice cream container is constantly churning, which results in a texture that is just unbelievably smooth. There's no part of the final yogurt product that's misshapen in any way - it's all just perfectly textured. It's very different from ice cream in that way, and honestly more similar to soft serve
They actually didn't really have any flavors that I liked. I'm not a huge fan of fruit or chocolate with ice cream, but that was mostly what they had. Would've liked to see at least one vanilla-based option that wasn't tea-focused, but I went with the Dutch Chocolate. Despite not being the biggest chocolate fan, the flavor here was actually very good. It had a light but not overpowering chocolate taste, but as I mentioned, the smooth texture really carried it throughout
Maybe the only small issue was the flavor was very onenote. Since there are no mix-ins you can add, by the time you're halfway through, it does get a little bit boring. I think I do still prefer ice cream, but this gave me a very interesting perspective on frozen yogurt. If they had flavors more to my liking, I could see this being one of my favorite places to go to
Price-wise, it's a bit expensive, at $7 per pretty small scoop.
Overall, this is a great place that should be getting the amount of tourists it...
