I came here based on a friend saying the salad was supper good. I looked at the menu and I found one of my FAVORITE dishes… poutine… I read the reviews… because hello I am a reviewer… I should have listened to them… the reviews were not the best on the poutine BUT the menu and their website said “we don’t mess around when it comes to TRADITIONAL CANADIAN DISH”. So I figured the people just got a bad dish a couple times… boy was I wrong! This was the WORST poutine I have ever had! The fries tasted burnt, the “cheese curds” were not cheese curds they were just clumps of cheese that was stuck to the side of the container and literally only about 4 globs of cheese… the gravy was good but that was about it… I forgot to take a pic of the poutine before I started as I was eating in my car… but I did take one halfway through it. I will NEVER eat the poutine from here and you should definitely not say this is “traditional Canadian” when it is nothing in comparison. I’ve eaten a lot of poutine over my years and this was definitely the worst.
The Buffalo chicken salad however was amazing!! The chicken was not too spicy and it was perfect! I did ask for ranch dressing and cheddar cheese instead of Bleu Cheese and it was amazing!! I will definitely eat the salad again!!
Please work on your poutine this is not what poutine should look like and definitely not what it...
Read moreSo, after having our flight home cancelled (Thank you, Delta. At least you had the decency to honor the flight insurance); myself, my sister, and my expertly-cantankerous father were searching for someplace to eat, and happened upon 24 Taps here, not far from the hotel. One short, hungover and aching walk later, we grab a table and decide we'll try some appetizers first, as we're all starved and could use a bit of caloric comfort, having lost our flight back to Buffalo, NY.
That's relevant for two reasons: One; dear God, the appetizers are the size of a meal. The plate of nachos delivered to my sister may have been literally the size of her head. My poutine left me honestly considering taking a nap in the booth from caloric overload.
And two: remember when I mentioned that we're from Buffalo? The place where hot wings were literally invented?
24 does it right. No joke, those wings would fit right in on a Buffalo, NY menu, sauce and all. They even cooked them right (Very few places even get close outside of WNY). That was a fantastic surprise for a pack of hungover Bills fans to come across. If I find myself in Spokane again, I will be darkening the doorstep of...
Read moreWe ended up here by total accident, the restaurant across the street literally ran out of food on new years day. We were promptly greeted and sat down. I just thought to myself "Oh another sports bar with bar food" yeah, I was wrong. The food was great, I had the Sliders (best I ever had) not kidding at all. My wife had the chicken sandwich and we both had fries. Now I will admit it was quiet in there so maybe that is why everything was top notch (more than likely, its just that good though) Our server, (I believe Travor) was great, he undertsood what great service means, he was friendly and attantive. Well , come to find out that He is the owner. Honetly even if he wasn't the owner he would still be getting this review.
If you look I do a lot of reviews , been all over the country and I am very fair about my reviews. I used to to manage a restaurant and undertsand customer service very well. Most places seem to have forgotten what customer service is.
This is truly a great place to try, promise you will not be disspointed! Thanks again Travor (see you for the Super...
