I live in Stillwater and love supporting our local shops. I went in to shop with a friend and my daughter this weekend and before even greeting me they told me to throw my drink out because they don’t allow them in the store. That’s fine, but maybe say hello first? Say it in a kinder fashion?? I’m pretty reasonable... I also understand kids are a liability in the store, but my daughter is extremely well behaved and very gentle. Any time she touched anything they told me to tell her to stop touching things, and again it was the lack of kindness in the way they communicated that completely turned me off from being willing to buy anything. I know this shop has been a staple in Stillwater for a long time, but I definitely felt unwelcome and chose not to spend any money in the store because of the way they communicated with us. If the shop reads my review, I think it would be wise to find a way to communicate your standards that isn’t offensive to...
Read moreThe shopping experience was very delightful and I love to purchase things in the store. I sent the three gifts to three different locations and they were all packaged for shipping and gifting in the store. I mailed all packages at the postoffice, but prior to shipping I secured them with more packaging and packaging paper. One item was a hot chocolate cup, which was broken. It was not that expensive and the post office will pay for the item. One arrived in good condition in Montana. The most expensive item which was double boxed and sent to Seattle was completely unglued and arrived in pieces. I had the receiver send an e-mail with a picture to see what your Stillwater Store would do about it since it was totally unglued and after many back/forth conversations I got no help at all. I would have been much better off ordering the item on line and I doubt I will ever purchase anything in the Stillwater Store again. The store manager deserves...
Read moreI try to take a trip to Germany for the Christmas markets at least every other year, and last year I I got to the Kathë Wohlfahrt in Rothenburg, which is incredible! This store is much smaller, which is understandable, and has some of the great displays but none of the charm of the store or markets in Germany. This was mostly a result of the attitude of the manager, she was horrid. She barked at me before I even stepped inside the door because I was still putting my mask on. Every interaction she had with my group or any other customer in the store was incredibly rude and condescending. There was no welcome, no greeting... the items in the store are lovely, but I will...
