MN Nice Cream — Restaurant in Stillwater

The first time my husband and I tried this place it was midafternoon on a Saturday in the summer. The line was long and it seemed very chaotic. We ended up leaving because it all seemed very hectic. The second time we attempted was on a Sunday evening, and it was a much better experience. They have 3 different flavors of soft serve ice cream. The strawberry flavor is vegan, so it was a great alternative for my lactose intolerant husband. We ended up getting two "specialty" cones - the Worms in the Dirt and the Berry Nice. The strawberries on the Berry Nice were very flavorful. The strawberry ice cream tasted more like sherbet. The brownies on the Dirt in the worms was soft and moist. The staff was energetic and friendly.

TL;DR It was a great place to get a fancy ice cream cone. However don't go on a Saturday and if you are just getting ice cream go...

We took a short trip to Stillwater this afternoon! What a charming little town! The streets are really hilly- a little scary to think of driving on them in the winter! Anyway, as we were walking around , we discovered MN Nice Cream...the girl at the ice cream window was great! She had suggestions for each of our party of 5- and was so patient! Laughing and really enjoying interacting with her customers! They have specialty cones withal kinds of topping mixtures. I gotta Camper! Toasted marshmallows, Graham crackers and bite size peanut butter cups! So delicious! It was oh so messy, melty and I felt like a kid again...eating my ice cream cone while walking next to the St Croix River on a gorgeous,...

I don’t really understand the huge amount of positive reviews, other than maybe the aesthetic and ability to get a good photo for Instagram? As others have stated, the actual ice cream is not good. Is it vegan? Not sure but it has no flavor and really just tastes like ice. It wasn’t even a hot day and it melted so quick we could barely eat it. There’s no clean way to eat this, I can’t imagine a kid eating it without needing a full on bath after. If you enjoy being sticky, this would be a great place for you! One extra star due to the large portion sizes for the price and the cookie...
