When I first walked into this bánh mì shop I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, because while I had heard plenty of people rave about the place and had seen a steady stream of customers walking in and out with bags full of sandwiches, it was only after my very first bite that I understood why this humble little shop deserves every one of its five stars and then some, and as I sit down to reflect on my visits and write this review I realize that part of the magic of this shop lies not only in the food itself but in the entire experience that surrounds it, from the moment you step inside and are greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked bread to the moment you leave with a satisfied smile, already planning your next visit. The first thing that strikes you when you enter is the atmosphere: it is casual, unpretentious, and welcoming, with a faint buzz of conversation, the clinking of utensils, the occasional sizzle of meat hitting the grill, and the gentle fragrance of coriander, cucumber, pickled vegetables, and rich savory pâté blending together into an intoxicating promise of flavor; there is something so inviting about seeing baguettes lined up behind the counter, golden brown and freshly baked, waiting to be filled, and staff who are efficient but never rushed, friendly without being overbearing, always willing to answer a question about fillings or suggest a recommendation for...
Read moreAt Bake and Grill Outback Vietnamese shop, the dining experience is a lively immersion into authentic Vietnamese flavors. Despite the limited seating and bustling atmosphere, the aroma of freshly baked bread and sizzling grilled meats fills the air, setting the stage for a culinary adventure.
We ordered two banh mi sandwiches, one featuring the classic pork filling and the other showcasing tantalizing chicken BBQ. The banh mi exceeded expectations both in taste and portion size. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the pork boasting a perfect balance of savory and sweet notes, while the chicken BBQ offered a smoky, succulent indulgence.
The bread, a cornerstone of any good banh mi, was impeccably crisp on the outside and delightfully fluffy on the inside, providing the ideal canvas for the savory fillings to shine. Despite the bustling crowd, the service remained efficient and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
In conclusion, Bake and Grill Outback delivers not only on taste but also on value, with generously sized banh mi sandwiches that are sure to satisfy even the heartiest appetites. Whether you're craving a taste of Vietnam or simply looking for a delicious and filling meal, this hidden gem is well...
Read moreThis place makes me confused. For a five star overall reviews, I find that the service was not to expectation. The first impression of this place was sloppy, slow, and stars shown does not mean anything. Bowls and plates of previous customers were left on the tables and looked very messy (when i left the restaurant, the bowls and plates were still on the tables). Upon ordering my food, I gathered they were busy. We waited at least 15 minutes for our food and were pleasantly surprised. The bean sprouts to go with the pho were meant to be shared amongst two of us, and the portion was small. No basil was provided. I asked for another portion, and I was taken aback by the younger waiter rudely informing me that the previous portion was for two. I reminded him that it was small and it was cheap. He answered back rudely that the meal he had charged was cheap (paid $19 for the meal in which i find is on the top). I found that his comments were unnecessary and rather rude. Left with a very unpleasant experience and will not be back again. Be careful when patronising this place. This is my personal view and experience for the restaurant to improve and customers to note - definitely not trying to 'exploit' as...
