I don't know what happened today but it isn't the Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers I experienced last time.
I had a booking at 12pm (Sunday 25/05) and the table wasn't ready or staff were not aware. Also happened to a different table that was waiting beside us. This also happened last year to us also. Makes me wonder who manages the bookings.
While waiting for our food we also witnessed a table of 8 walk out as the waiter would not add an extra table to accommodate. The waiter did add a table but it would comfortably seat a 6, not an 8. It wasn't busy but overhead the waiter said he is unable to as it will get busy? Of course the party of 8 left. Witnessing that whole situation just made us feel uncomfortable as it was so poorly managed.
As expected the food was delicious (thankfully!). Just felt underwhelmed and disappointed that the service did not match the quality of the food. Our can of drinks came out as it is with no glassware and side plates were not offered with entrees. The vibe today was just so different from previous experiences. It was a special occasion today and we regretted our decision to celebrate there.
We also booked a Birthday Tiramasu upon booking online for the purpose of a great birthday surprise as promoted on their website. I also had to chase that up as no one acknowledged that detail. Of course it came out with no candle (also advertised) so as we just sang the song without it. The whole experience was...
Read morehave been waiting for a while to try out this place!!! finally decided to drop by for dinner a super spacious and open space in south bank!! when we went it quite empty which was nice and peaceful customer service was really lovely and fast! super friendly🥺 we ordered their wild mushroom and truffle sauce gnocchi, their creamy lobster barramundi gnocchi and their truffle salted chips~ they also have cheese shakers at their table, AMAZING! we just went ham shaking the cheese out🤤🤣 both gnocchi’s were cooked lovely and had a lovely texture! the wild mushroom and truffle was the better one out of the two~ so so good! fragrant and delicious🤤 whereas the creamy lobster and barramundi was a little bit disappointing~ there was barely any seafood in there and it was basically just the sauce that was really fishy🤧lovely flavor but we preferred their wild mushroom and truffle gnocchi more🥰 both gnocchi’s were $18 each, which we found a little pricey for the amount you get, the portion was great for me as a small portion eater 🙆🏻♀️but for those who are looking for a bigger meal, one will not be enough for you truffle chips were super delicious!!! thick cut crispy chips cooked to perfection🤩the sauce they had on the side was super yummy!!~ overall a delicious meal and good experience!~ definitely will be coming back but probably will not have...
Read moreThe dim lights of Southbank flickered as Clare and Cheyenne road down the street. On Fridays Clare's big sister Cheyenne took her to Gnocchi Gnocchi brothers, and this was their favourite day of the week. As they arrived outside the restaurant they parked their bicycles, Clares was bright red and Cheyenne's was olive green. A kind waitress led them to a small table for two surrounded by lively chatter and music. She handed them both a menu, and walked away. The first thing to arrive was two cans of mandarin soda, as Clare took a sip it whizzed and bubbled in her mouth. Fizzes and pops of sweet citrus swirled around her mouth, like stars. Next to arrive was a warm bowl of gnocchi bolognaise. Cheyenne ate a spoonful of gnocchi, as soon as it touched her tongue it was delicious, the juicy mince was complimented by the taste of the sophisticated tomato, all rounded up by the gnocchi that was as light as a feather, it melted in her mouth like butter. The girls ordered a large panna cotta for dessert, drizzled in a sweet, tart raspberry syrup, the jelly-like creaminess jiggled on the plate, creating ripples. The girls took a spoon of the delicious dessert and the raspberry notes warmed their hearts. Soon they were full and tired, so they road home with smile on their faces.
