The move to the new location is certainly a step backwards. I hate to say it but I won't be back unless something changes.
The whole concept of a pour your own drink station is severely underwhelming when you find out you have to put money on a card, and once that money is on the card you can't get it back, ever. The concept of going to a bar and buying a single drink has gone out the window.
The staff were rude and inattentive tonight, and when I did buy two cans of beer I was given two warm glasses that were too small to fit the contents, and then after asking for a larger glass I was given a hot pint glass.
I am extremely disappointed in the new setup. I feel this is a step back for the business, and whilst I don't wish any business to fail, if this one does I won't be surprised. Even the staff agreed with me that other clients hate the DIY pour system.

Thanks for taking the time to hijack my review for your social media copypasta. I am sure this is the right location to pat yourself on the back for your decisions I am criticising.
What you seem to lack the ability to understand is I am complaining about the additional friction you have you have added to the transaction without any benefit to the end user. It isn't about one quick drink, it is about the additional workload you have offloaded from your staff onto the consumer, making additional steps and complicating the process. Hell, if I wanted to shout myself and three mates a beer, we all have to crowd in front of the vending wall, decide what we want, go and put money on the card, pour our own drinks, contend with other people crowding around trying to make a decision or pour their own, and if there is a misjudgment on actual quantities, there is now someone who has a short pour, or you have some small amount of change left on the card, which you are now forced to use. You can't get a taste of a beer that almost every other bar would give to you for free, there is no banter with your robot dispensing nipple lord who controls all the fluids.
Your decision has ruined my experience. You have added friction, your staff agree until you brainwash them, sorry, provide training, as to how they can speak. That is my complaint. You went from a 5 star to a 1 star review, less if I had the choice. Hate is the most appropriate word to use, because that is how I feel about your new bar experience. I don't want to call, or email, to have a chat about it. I know you aren't going to change the way you do things because a single person told you their truth, but feel free to further invalidate my feelings and experience . Previous review:
A great selection of different beers. The Reuben Sandwich wasn't the best I've had but was certainly good. I will be back...
Read moreBack in April I ordered a vegan burger which I had ordered many times before and enjoyed. When it arrived from uber eats I was shocked to see it was meat. I had 2 of my housemates also test it (one is a chef) who confirmed it was a meat patty. I contacted tipplers tap Facebook page where I was told that even though the vegan patty looks identical to meat it was definately vegan as they spoke to all the staff. My chef housemate pulled it apart and I then sent them a photo of a gristle to prove it was meat. They offered me a refund in store as they said it cannot be refunded via uber eats which I thought was weird as I had already received my refund. I was messaging to let them know about the issue as a curtesy to stop it happening again but instead their focus seemed more about not refunding via uber eats and not even acknowledging what had happened. (Not sure if it was a accident or someone playing a sick joke).
I decided to give them another go on Saturday night. Ordered 1 vegan cheese burger and crumbed mushrooms. What arrived instead was 1 chicken burger, 1 beef burger, a side of fries and chicken wings. The company has no phone number so I couldn’t even call to rectify immediately. So we contacted uber eats and where refunded. I messaged the page again to let them know about the mix up and my dissaponitment especially after last time. I sent photos of the uber eats order and of the food that we had received. They replied asking for the uber eats order number which I provided. That was on Saturday night, and I still have not had a response (now late Monday night) which is why I am leaving a negative review which I hate to do however I have the company 2 opportunities to rectify the situation and neither of them where satisfactory. Very dissaponited in the expierence and...
Read moreFantastic little pub! My husband and I booked for a quick meal before a show at Qpac on Valentines day. Traffic was absolutely terrible so we were late but it was no issue at all for them. A both had been reserved for us (I can't remember his name I am sorry!) But someone was in there so we took another that had just emptied. We ordered some small starters because neither of us can eat very much, we ordered the cheeseburger spring rolls, 6 wings and the pork belly bites.
Omg! Everything was so delicious and the wings were some of the nicest I have had. The spring rolls were packed with real mince flavoured so amazingly (I could live on spring rolls lol) the pork belly was amazing too!
The service was fantastic and he apologised to us for not being able to get the middle booth, we weren't worried one bit but it was lovely for him to apologise for it.
We felt so bad because as we can't eat very much at all we didn't finish everything so it probably looked like we didn't like it but we did (we always feel terrible when we eat out because of this so we don't eat out much)
We will definitely return and recommend The Tipplers Tap to our friends and family. It's a fantastic atmosphere and the service and food are great.
We didn't order drinks because we can't eat and drink together and I am pregnant but once I can have a sneaky drink again...
