3.5 stars Food: Standardized presentation. Price is slightly on high side. - Japanese Claypot Rice Salmon, $17.6: Small portion. Rice with carrot and egg.--- 6.5/10 - AJITAMA-UMA, $21.3: as usual. There were a thick-cut chashu, a whole flavored egg, good portion of bamboo shoots, and spring onions. NO sesame/crushed fresh garlic can be added. --- 7/10 - Teriyaki Gyoza, $8.5/ 5pcs: No Teriyaki sauces. It's just watery soy sauce. --- 5.8/10 Service: waited/queue outside. Menu given when seated. Order and pay by scanning QR code. Or pay by cash at cashier. Get cold/hot water at the cashier. Grab servitte toothpicks, and condiments (garlic powder, chili powder/ vinegar) at the kitchen side. Ramen is served very fast (faster than rice and goyza). --- 6.7/10 2022: 3.5 -4 stars Environment: Japanese decor. Spacious between tables. Typical ramen shops. Self help area for tap water at front desk. Open kitchen can see ramen making through the window. --- 7/10 --- --- --- 11/2021 edited Service: courtesy of staff is improved. Normal waiting time for food. A mug of Hot green tea was given immediately at the cashier when ordered a ramen with free green tea. --- 7/10 Food: presentation is close to the pictures of menu. New menu. Add kid's menu. Price is elevated, slight pricey. Soup base was very rich but oily. Texture, quantity and flavour is retained. Whole egg is served. Original Ramen is al dente, can choose the texture. Ajitama-Uma, $17.5: Pork flavoured shouyu soup with 1 thick-cut Chashu (Japanese grilled/stewed pork belly). Meat was cooked well and tender. Bamboo shoots with very strong unpleasant bamboo flavour. One whole soft-boiled egg was till runny slightly. -- 7/10 Tori Zeitaku-Uma, $19.5: Chicken flavoured shouyu soup with 3 stewed chicken drumsticks and some chicken meat with skin. The flavoured egg was cooked to light soft. Normal portion of ramen, bamboo, and corns --- 7.5/10 ------ ------- ---- 2020 Service (6.8/10): General Japanese style greeting. The waitress was not so gentle. Be seated and then read the menu. Pay @ the cashier. Not wait too long. Ramen came first. Gyoza came when 3/4 of ramen was finished. Staff polite. Each Ramen is served with a spoon and chopsticks in a tray. Probably due to pandemic, no seasonings, like sesame and crushed garlic on the table. No tap water provided. Tables were clean. Gyoza, A$6.9/5pcs (7/10): nornal size and portion. Fillings were ok but not very special. Pastry was thin. Cooked really well. We tried two ramen with Chashu (8/10): Zeitaku-Uma with more ingredients (A$19.5) and Noritama-Uma (A$18.5) which was standard size. Pork flavoured zhoyu-soup base was very thick very rich. 1-3 pcs of triangle Nori in the bowls. Bamboo shoots with very strong unpleasant bamboo flavour. Chashu (Japanese grilled/stewed pork belly) was thick cut that I like. Meat was cooked beautifully and tender. One whole soft-boiled egg that was not commonly seen in ramen shops, was cooked to perfection. Noodles were also al dente.

It's an under-rated ramen restaurant. I travel around Australia and Asian countries, and I'm a super ramen fan. Must try every ramen restaurants if time allows. Good service and nice staff members. My fussy starving friend bought a pack of fried chicken from neighbouring store and took it in, which is not welcome in most of restaurants, but she was tolerated. And she changed the arranged table and we were even eating the fried chicken on the table before our ramen came to the table. No one came to say that it's not encouraged... šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ As to the ramen itself, it's a thick-stoke-based style, like which I tried in a little local ramen restaurant in Osaka. I can understand it couldn't be able to please everyone's taste. But I still love it, because this stoke is the rare one in all kinds of Japanese ramens. But actually it could be thicker. For Japanese, this type of ramen could be a side dish coming with steamed rice. The soup will be left over, which means the soup is for flavour only. But here it's been changed to be ligher and eatable. If you don't like the thick style, order some water to put in. Flavoured egg is good, but not cut which had been stated on the menu. And the flavour is in salt style. Bamboo is a bit soft. Thick-cut chashu is roasted smells good. This is my first time to see a chili in a spicy Japanese ramen soup. Good in flavour, and good for picture lol I like its decoration in Japanese style, look good in atmospheres. Priced reasonably as the other ramen restaurants. As a ramen expert, it's a 'recommend' for those who have never tried something new and ramen lovers. One of the best Japanese ramen in Australia.

Had an early dinner here with my bestie because she wanted to try this place so badly. First impression - I was quite shocked that a staff from the inside has to let you in. It seems like they have a problem with non-patrons using the bathrooms. This place is also pay as you go, which is fine. The photos looked appealing from the menu. I ordered eel Japanese claypot rice. And bestie ordered Ajitama chasu-uma. You also have to carry your own drinks to your table after you order.

Food arrived, not a very long wait. However, the portion, I thought was small for its price. The claypot rice had small amount of scrambled eggs in it, much less compared to the promotional photo in the menu. Same as the ramen my friend ordered, in the photo there were four slices of pork and she got three. I was disappointed.

I don't eat pork so I didn't try my friend's dish, she seems satisfied but I think it was overrated. My order was quite average. Eel did not have enough sweet dressing and was lacking that wow factor. The chicken karaage however was good.

We also tried to get the staff attention to have our photo taken several times but not sure why staff avoid eye contact. And the place did not really feel like a Japanese place other than the food and decor.

My advice, I think that they should be honest with the photos on the menu otherwise don't put photos at all. I would realistically rate 2, but my friend is quite easy to please and so 3 will be my final rating to this restaurant. And extra effort on customer service can go a long way. I simply did not enjoy the...
