An absolute gem of a Japanese restaurant tucked away in a little corner near a busy Pitt and George Street.
Nestled between some really old beautiful heritage buildings, you get this feeling like you're teleported back in time. It's such an interesting and incredible experience seeing all the stain-glass fixings and wooden walls and staircases.
The restaurant itself is spacious enough and comfortable with a few seating options. It is cosy and slightly tight fitting but definitely still comfortable . I love the little wall of Christmas animatronics and decorations they have here. Its there all year round and you can get the table right beside it! I love it !
The food! WOW! Some of the best Japanese food I've ever experienced. The Udon is delicious and warming and served extremely fresh and hot. The noodles are so soft and the perfect consistency. The broth is perfectly seasoned and just divine !
The teriyaki tofu was incredible! So fresh and soft and yummy! The grilled eggplant was also delicious.
The serving sizes are truly MASSIVE!! You get a extremely generous amount of food on your plate for very decent prices. And everything is served super fresh and hot.
The service is very friendly and welcoming and helpful.
We definitely loved our experience here from the fresh authentic delicious Japanese food to the ambience of the heritage buildings and the decor and the music. I will...
Read moreHaha its definately worth to take a 2nd glimpse at a place :)!! Ive walked past this place countless times and only noticed that it was a small shop front and saw that it had a sqaushy U shaped wooden table at the front window :)!
I decided to stop this time to check out the menu, food looked good and the place looked empty, as soon as i walked in i saw they had a whole bunch of tables at the back of the restaurant with a cool high ceiling with the deco old school art on the roof :D.
When it comes to Asian places I'm a quick thinker on what to get, don't mind having a quick browse and jist ordering anything that says chicken or soup lol!!
I got the Stamina Don, Miso & Chicken Kurange & my friend got a plain Don, Miso & Tempura battered king prawn, with some Green Tea to Share :D
The food came out super quick .. less than 5 mins :D, is fantastic for me when I'm Starving :D!! Stamina Don was like a combo of meats accompanied by thick noodle :), both Dons were warm and fresh tasting, went down very nice :)!! (Sprinkled a bit to much chilli flakes that they served with the Dons so i lost my voice for a few mins after gulping down a bit to much of it haha).
Miso was served cold ... only ever had Miso really warm.. still tasted nice though. Chicken tasted nice as did the tempura aswell :D!!
Have had better Japanese than this place but was nice to have finally come in & tasted their...
Read moreS.O.S. I was here few years ago and i loved it. Food was great and staff were very friendly.
I do have a problem: my family member tried thier "Japanese wine" (plum wine?) And she loved it so much. She rarely ever drinks alcohol but she only liked their wine. We flew into Sydney so i have no way of knowing what we were served. I wish someone would post a picture of their drinks menu. I would like to buy that wine as a present for my family member because she said it was "nicest drink" she had but i have no way of knowing what it was. And i can't fly into Sydney now to find out for myself.
I also remember their salad dressing was delicious. I have no idea what it was, but so delicious. I still remember it. If i ever fly into Sydney...I'll definitely visit again!
Very happy yet sad memory at the same time, as it was so good but i can't visit any time soon. I miss it because I'd like to experience it again. Sad because it...
