I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the service and behavior of a staff member, Ella, on February 4th between 2:00-2:30 PM in the outdoor area of Sailor’s Rest.

We initially experienced an issue when Ella served us the wrong non-cocktail drink. When we politely informed her that we had not ordered it, her facial expression was unpleasant, making us feel uncomfortable.

Later, when she was serving dishes, she failed to say "behind" or provide any verbal warning, leading to my friend tilting their head back and accidentally hitting the plate with the back of their head. This could have been avoided with proper service etiquette.

Additionally, we requested nine sharing plates for our group. While placing the plates, Ella sarcastically remarked, "I will try not to hit your heads." This comment was inappropriate, but what happened next was even more unacceptable.

One of our friends’ brothers has a social disability. Upon hearing her remark, he instinctively tilted his head to the side, giving Ella ample space to place the plate. However, Ella proceeded to mock his movement by imitating his actions and laughing about it with another female staff member.

When I saw her doing this, I immediately told her to stop laughing at my friend’s brother, as he has social difficulties. I also warned her that such behavior could be considered discriminatory and offensive. Instead of apologizing, she denied it and walked away without any remorse.

We were at your restaurant to celebrate my friend's graduation, but Ella’s attitude, disrespect, and inappropriate behavior completely ruined our experience.

I urge you, as the owner/management, to take this matter seriously and provide a reasonable explanation and an official apology. Such behavior is unacceptable in the hospitality industry, and I hope appropriate action will be taken to ensure no other customer has to experience similar treatment.
