Their almond croissant! Oh you can't go wrong with this one, it has a seriously crunchy crust and layered so well. The delicious almond filling is spot on. If you don't want it too sweet, then maybe have the one with blueberries because the acidity cuts through the sweet almond filling. Their donuts are insanely delicious too.

Generally Mary Street has above average coffee and has lovely treats, but I think for this particular store, (I could be wrong) most of the treats are not baked in store. The treats were unfortunately not as nice as the original or Leederville store. But still generally ok. Service was also quite poor.

The worst lunch my friends and I have EVER had...the pie was burnt and dry, the sausage roll was crunchy and in-edible, my Veggie Sandwich was a slice of sour tasting chewy cauliflower with a few sprigs of rocket - revolting! Gross!

Not usually one to call this out but it's pretty disappointing that a place so hyped up has employee's like this to ruin the whole hype and vibe.

I've come here a couple times and it's like having daggers aimed at me with how rude they are. I used to work as a barista myself and i get it's not always the best job but I never acted this rude.

Multiple times they ask for your name since they seem to either forget what you say or have listening problems and also when you bring in your own cup it feels like the end of the world for them to make a coffee this way. And finally when they make the coffee they just slam it down as it splashes their pickup area with a coffee that shouldn't cost this much when it tastes burnt and more basic than McDonald's coffee.

Not even going to discuss the food as though it's decent, the prices you're paying should be including the coffee as well i mean just ridiculous.

Disappointing and don't understand the hype for this place some customer service and barista training for the employee's would be...

Look, the doughnuts and coffee are decent but also expensive. The value was tolerable but the staff attitude isn't. I'm not someone who thinks hospitality staff need to be overjoyed extraverts who act like your best friend, but the staff attaitude can't be understood as anything other than "hostile". When they push off the counter to reluctantly serve you, expect the dullest greeting imaginable. No emotion on their face at all, no 'please' or 'thanks' when handling the payment, and you'll come away from the so-called "interaction" feeing like you were a problem rather than a customer. Makes the doughnut taste worse, won't...

Dropped by Mary Street Bakery in QV1 with a free hour to spare and it hit all the right notes. Their chocolate‑peanut caramel doughnut was indulgent without being overly sweet, and the brisket sandwich with beetroot fritters was the perfect combination of comfort and bold flavour. The staff were helpful and efficient—even at the peak mid-morning crowd—with the baker cheerfully explaining specials behind the counter. The café was warm and bustling, but never crowded. Food and coffee consistently up to the high standard I’ve come to expect from this...
