As someone with a growing interest in Asian culture and cuisine, I look for authentic spots wherever I travel nowadays, and here in Salzburg I truly struck gold with Mr. Wen.
I personally tried the Bulgogi with steamed rice, and it was simply outstanding, bursting with flavor, perfectly true to Korean cuisine, and beautifully presented (as you can see in the photos). We also had a shrimp noodle dish (sadly I cannot recall the exact name), but it was absolutely divine as well. The only thing I would have loved on the side was a small portion of kimchi, though I am sure I could have asked for it.
The ordering is done at the counter, but the lady who took our order was incredibly friendly and spoke English, as did the server lady who brought our food. About 20 minutes into our meal, they even came to check if everything was to our liking and whether we needed anything else. I found this to be a huge plus, especially for a counter service restaurant. It definitely did not feel low budget at all.
Price-wise, it is very reasonable. Most main dishes are between €10 and €20, and a generous portion of wok noodles easily comes in under €20. We enjoyed both indoor and outdoor seating options, the tables were spotless, and for just €30 total for three people including drinks, we had a truly wonderful Asian experience!

Read moreThe experience at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. Communication was terrible, treating us as if we were clueless. They frequently contradicted themselves, claiming certain items weren’t available, only to replace them with something completely different without explanation.
We ordered multiple dishes, but many were missing or substituted without notice. For example, we ordered bulgogi but were served Sichuan beef instead, and even then, some dishes didn’t match the menu descriptions at all. Overall, the service was unprofessional, and the food quality didn’t make up for the chaotic experience. Would...
Read moreIt’s in the city center. Quick Asian food that tastes delicious all around. It’s a self service place with a quite big area to eat in or when it’s nice weather you can sit at their street tables outside. It’s popular here. There’s always people there and the delivery people are coming and going almost by the minute. So it’s really good if you don’t want a real restaurant, don’t want to spend much time and in addition it’s fairly priced for...
