We left the restaurant truly disappointed, despite the nice dinner we had. My partner and I were enjoying a pleasant evening until it was time to pay. When the waiter brought us the check, he mentioned that, in Austria, tipping is optional and can be added at our discretion.
This particular waiter had only seated us and brought the check, so we offered a modest tip. To our surprise, he responded with a short “no” and proceeded to enter the total without the tip on the card machine. He then abruptly pulled the receipt out and said, in an obviously annoyed tone, “sorry we didn’t satisfy your needs,” before turning and walking away. We were left speechless by his reaction, which completely spoiled the experience.
If he was unhappy with our tip amount, a polite “good evening” would have sufficed. To make matters worse, we noticed him acting similarly rudely in another table, and another waiter had to come afterwards apologize for a mistake when taking an order, leaving us to wonder if he was having a bad day or if this behavior is typical.
Unfortunately, due to this interaction, we won’t be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant. It’s disappointing that one rude encounter can overshadow what could have...
Read moreThe food was very bad. He gave my son food that even a homeless person wouldn't eat. The waiter who had a beard behaved in an inappropriate manner... Life is about morals, even if I explain to you that the food is not good, you have to accept this. He was saying, “You will pay,” and he raised his voice sharply. “Yes, I will pay. I don’t care. It’s for the money. We are paying hundreds of thousands.” So that we can have a good time, I don't care about a bill of 54 euros, it doesn't mourn anything, but what concerns me is the damage caused to my son from bad food and bad manners, and before that, before the meal arrived, his colleague raised his voice at my son in order to lower the volume on the iPad. You could have been kind to him. You must be respectful. You must be kind to customers. If there was less than a star here, I would...
Read moreYou need to come here when you visit Vienna. This place was recommended by the Michelin guide and is one of the better meals I've had, and not just while visiting Vienna. It seems to be family owned and the owners very clearly find joy in what they do. I was greeted warmly when I came in and ordered the salmon with risotto. The dish was well balanced, and had depth and complexity of flavor. The fish was PERFECTLY cooked: the skin was crisp and the fish delectably moist. The ambience is upscale and private while also feeling relaxed, a fact which I credit to their staff. I noticed they warmly greeted each customer and took the time to check in on tables. I loved my experience so much I brought my husband back...
