The popular Shake Shack US burger chain's name originates from the movie Grease. It operates numerous shops in the US and Asia. The first Shake Shack in Hong Kong opened its doors on May 1, 2018, at the IFC mall. Being part of the first group, I joined the long lineups and tasted the shroom burger for the first time, falling in love with it instantly. The deep-fried portobello mushroom stuffed with melted munster cheese was a delightful discovery. As a result, I have grown to appreciate Munster cheese immensely. The first Shake Shack burger location in Hong Kong is strategically situated on the rooftop of a high-end mall. Whenever I shop at the mall, I make it a point to purchase my favorite shroom burger. Interestingly, I have not had the opportunity to try the original shake burger yet. It is crucial that I sample it, along with the chicken burger, on my next visit. I have been informed that the chicken burger is exceptional.
Since my initial experience with the shroom burger a few years ago, I have not had the chance to enjoy it again until recently. My travel schedule in Japan last May was hectic, causing me to miss the opportunity to taste my favorite shroom burger again. Nevertheless, I was pleased to learn that Shake Shack has established a presence in Toronto, and I promptly tried my beloved Shroom Burger. The flavor was reminiscent of the one I enjoyed in Hong Kong a few years ago. Furthermore, I sampled the Chocolate Peppermint Shake, which was thoroughly enjoyable. The Union Station location features a bright and airy atmosphere, with a bar offering alcoholic beverages. One observation I made was the patrons' use of ordering stations to accelerate...
Read moreThe staffs there provide great services, they guide you to line up and place your order and helps clean your plates without having you asked for, they ask for your permission before taking your plate off too. The food tastes good, burger is juicy and looks yummy. They don’t have combos and everything is single order like a la cart. It’s diet friendly if you are trying to control your calories intake. With all those pros, I gave it one star out of five star ratings because I had serious diarrhea after having their food. I’ve been there twice, and I experienced serious pain every time in my stomach and bowel, felt wanting to throw out. It doesn’t feel right after eating, when the food starts to be digested, about 45 min to 60 min after eating, I started to bloat and have explosive, forceful, rapid, and painful bowel movements. Thankfully I didn’t have to go to the emergency room, but I have to stay in the bathroom for the evening to clean up my stomach and the bathroom. For people had the same experiences, if you really like the food, try to eat and go home within 30 min to prepare for the bowel movements and pains. For those who have not experienced any diarrhea symptoms, maybe the food was good and your stomach is strong enough to handle it. For my own health and safety, I’ll not go for shake...
Read moreMy friend and I came to this location after missing the GO train. Honestly it was busy but the staff worked hard and were efficient. Food was fresh, easy to order and quick. We sat in the little bar dining area while we ate. This time we tried the chicken burger and the mushroom burger with cheese fries. The lemonade was crisp and the milkshake was a good dessert!
Update: My friend and I went back to this location as we craved some good fast food. This location is busy with it being in Union Station so expect a bit of a wait. They have figured out a suitable solution to ensure that all customers are served quickly and satisfied with their order. You line up, use the tablets to order and take an alert disc with your order number. Find a seat if possible while you wait.
The Shack Cheeseburgers with the pickles and cherry peppers are amazing! We also tried to Chicken Bites and the 50 % Lemonade / 50 % Iced Tea beverage which was perfect. Not to sweet and refreshing. I would recommend this fast food establishment and I don’t normally purchase fast food as I prefer a dine in experience with a local small business. Sometimes you are on the GO and need something quick...
