I would advise a menu clarification. When I first bit into it, I was shocked to have this weird taste I did not like. Only later did I realize it was crushed peanuts. I rechecked the menu, because I don’t remember them having peanuts on the pork belly bao, and it does not say that it has peanuts… then I realized that only on the other side of the menu does it say “all baos have crushed peanuts”. I think you should mention that underneath each bao because I totally would’ve asked to have them removed, and probably would’ve made the experience a lot better. Plus food allergenic people would benefit from this as not all bao bun places have peanuts on it. Anyways, bao buns themselves were good and unique as always! I spent $10 for 1 bao and 1 drink. Not an expert on bao pricing, so I couldn’t say if it’s overpriced or not. Would consider coming back and trying something else, but without the peanuts!

I remember the Bathurst and queen location. It was so good! Was quite excited to have the same experience again. But.. It didn't even come close. I got the 3 treasure rice bowl. The edamame was spoiled and had gone bad. The "sitting out too long sour" bad. The beef had no flavour, and was dry af. Very disappointing. The rice was mushy despite no sauce on it. Put it in hot water and it would've been congee/porridge ready mush texture. The pork belly was probably the only okay part of it with flavour and the meat was good texture, but it was 75% fat. (yes I know pork belly is supposed to be relatively fatty, but this was excessive). The overall flavour was lackluster. And whatever minimal flavour there was, it didn't go together. Really relying on that packet of soy sauce. For a $20 after tax bowl, it was extremely disappointing.

Stopped by Mean Bao at Union Station before heading to Electric Island. Service was a little slow, and they call out your number when the food is ready—but the guy calling was so quiet 😂 so make sure you stay close or listen carefully. We ordered siu mai, shrimp dumplings (not har gow style—more like shrimp in a wonton wrap 😆), and the spicy wontons. The siu mai and spicy wontons were definitely my favorites—so delicious! We got lucky and snagged a side table to eat, which was perfect. Oh and they do charge you for extra sauces and didn’t filled to the top 🙃 Didn’t try the bao this time since I didn’t want to get too full before the festival, but definitely coming back for that next time!

I ordered something simple Which is their dumplings. First of all let’s start with the cashier i was indecisive with the sauce and when i asked about a particular sauce she was giving me a lot of grunts and not a pleasant tone given the fact that i was really hungry i ignored the rudeness.. then after paying, i see the guy that’s about to prepare my food which disgust me he had his left hand blowing his nose with a tissue and on the right hand was my dumplings and he was wearing no gloves. I couldn’t understand why he didnt wash his hand before making my food but instead he sat down on the floor with his phone.. after that, i couldn’t let this sit in my Head of what i just witnessed.. first a mean cashier and then mishandling food in all counts. So i didnt know how to approach this but i finally said to the guys preparing my food and the cashier can you wash your hands? The cashier laughed at me and repeated what i said to the guy giggling, i felt like i wasn’t taken seriously with this troublesome food handling happening in the store cause not only then the cook washed his hands and put on gloves.. in the end, i asked and told another worker in the store what happened and i asked to get a refund but sadly enough none of them apologized for this matter. Terrible and...
