We arrived at 8pm and were almost turned away at the door as we didn’t have reservations and they close at 9:15. They graciously let us in. It’s located next to a hotel.
Their cocktail drinks were refreshing and contained fresh muddled herbs. They provided free table bread which was warmed, seasoned, soft, and extra delicious with the side of fresh salsa.
Every plate had a culinary presentation to the dish! The flavors had depth and thought with fresh ingredients! Portions appeared a bit small but we still ended up being pretty content.
The Senda Pork Ribs, St. Louis ribs, was extremely tender and had a great fusion of flavors. The side salad was refreshing. The downfall was the side of cassava fries were very bland.
The Pepper Steak was seasoned superbly and the pepper sauce was SO good. The steak was cooked a little too under but all the sides delivered!
For dessert, we ordered the brownie. The vanilla ice cream might have been the best ice cream I’ve had on my trip. The vanilla flavor really pops and complimented the richness of the brownie. However, the brownie itself was a little lackluster and on the drier side. The ice cream was its saving grace.
Definitely come by as I thought it was one of the better meals we had on our trip!
5 drinks, 4 entrees,...
Read moreWe booked this months ago and Alex was very accommodating as I had to make multiple changes to the date and time!
The atmosphere is contemporary look and very comfortable! Some tables have a wonderful view or are outside and little better than being on the interior.
Ok, now the food! All excellent.
Senda soup was a very sweet corn base, flavorful and tasty The tortilla topping was a perfect amount of crispiness . Otherwise a tomato soup tasted like tomato. (Some places it is runny and lacks flavour but here).
Garden pasta was great and had tasty and fresh veggies and pasta looked like fresh pasta.
Pulled pork sandwich was very good with a nice fresh bun and good taste pork. Personally I would have toasted the bun or at least ask us of wanted to. Sweet potato fried were very crisp and tasted likely sweet potato and not overwhelmed with a batter.
The 'Typical Chicken and Rice' dish tasted good. It wasn't overly salted and had a lot of ingredients, including pieces of chicken.
Dessert -;great as well
Churros was crispy and fresh, accompanied with a dish or leche and a dish of chocolate
I loved the brownies and ice cream mainly because it is cake based as opposed to fudge based which tends to be heavy.
A must try and very...
Read moreService was excellent, but the food was just okay. My husband ordered the ribs with bbq sauce. He commented that the ribs were wonderful, but the bbq sauce was sub par. On the plus side, he said that the cassava fries were the best fries he has ever had. He did, however, complain several hours later, that the food was not agreeing with him and was causing gastrointestinal distress. I had the catch of the day which was mahi-mahi. It was overcooked and dry which is easy to do with fish, especially this type. However, I had expected a little more from this restaurant. My daughter loved her vegetarian gnocchi, but that would be difficult to screw up. The next morning she said that she had the worst stomache in the middle of the night.
I originally rated this restaurant a 3* due to our dinner experience from the night before. However, I am changing it to a 4* because of the consistent excellence of the wait staff and breakfast experience. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. Avocado toast, huevos rancheros, and chia pudding followed by fresh fruit and muffins...
