If you're on the hunt for a brunch spot that takes your taste buds (and your mind) on a journey to Südtirol, look no further than Danu! This hidden gem serves up a delightful brunch every weekend from 9:00 to 14:00, and we recently had the pleasure of trying it out.
First off, let's talk about that original menu. The mushroom toast with poached egg and Tyrolean white sausage was a comforting start to our brunch adventure, while the chumus with foie gras added a touch of indulgence that we couldn't resist. But the real stars of the show were the Maultaschen dishes. The Maultaschen with potatoes and chanterelles were a savory delight, and the Maultaschen with sour cherries and thyme? Oh my, what a heavenly combination! And let's not forget the Quarkkeulchen with apple foam – a perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Every dish was a celebration of Südtirol cuisine, and the fact that all the bread is homemade just added to the charm. Danu also boasts an elegant atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're catching up with friends or having a romantic brunch date, the ambiance here is spot on.
So, if you're in the mood for a brunch experience that transports you to the heart of Südtirol, give Danu a try. It's a culinary journey you won't want to miss!

Read moreWe’re a young couple, both 24, who love going out for a great dining experience – and that’s exactly what we got at Danu Restaurant & Wine Cellar! Everything was 10/10. We were the only guests on a Saturday night, which honestly made no sense – a place like this deserves to be fully booked!
As a young couple, we often don’t get taken seriously in fine dining settings, but our lovely waiter gave us the full experience. He was knowledgeable, warm, and made the evening truly special. We learned so much and left not only full, but also inspired.
I had the tartare to start – and wow! It was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tasty. For the main course, I went with the deer, and it was absolutely amazing. High-quality ingredients, generous portions, and rich flavors all the way through. The wine was also spot on, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and elegant – even though we were the only ones there.
We can’t recommend Danu enough – it’s...
Read moreWe went for the second time and again I fail to understand how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars. The food is absolutely top notch. I had the beef tongue as a main course and it was some of the best meat I've had. The cheesecake would've been a huge mistake to skip as well. But the main attraction is the service (and wine selection of course). The waiters are welcoming and their ability to pair wines with the food is second to none. Even when we gave them a challenge of not wanting Hungarian wine for dessert (as we are Hungarian and wanted something new) they excelled at giving different options. Certainly our favorite restaurant and not just in Prague but anywhere we've been. It's not cheap, but the value for money is off the charts! Thanks again for a wonderful evening to celebrate a birthday, just as we did 4 months ago. We will be...
