RUDE, EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF HEAD AND HOUSEKEEPING – THEIR BEHAVIOR RUINS YOUR HOLIDAY

The location was very good. Breakfast was nice, with plenty of variety. The garden was beautiful, with tables and benches to sit on. The campsite is almost inside the park and very pleasant. Close to the city center but quiet.

Unfortunately, the staff experience completely ruined our stay. At the reception, Lisa and also the housekeeping staff (I don’t know their names, but I encountered three of them) were extremely rude. The official check-out time was 12:00. On that day it was raining, and I arrived back at the hotel around 12:15 and managed to leave the room at 12:35. Within those 10–15 minutes, housekeeping knocked three times, each time very rudely.

When I went to check out, the receptionist Lisa asked if I was satisfied with my stay. I explained what had happened. She insisted that we had to leave the room strictly by 12:00 and that housekeeping staff were just doing their job. I told her that of course staff can remind guests, but they don’t need to do it in such a RUDE manner. After all, we are human beings, not robots. Yes, I was late, but I also know they already block €100 on the credit card at check-in and can deduct any late check-out fees. Charging a fee is acceptable, but rude behavior is not.

I had come with my daughter to enjoy a nice holiday. Instead, both of us felt stressed and upset. My daughter, who had just finished her university entrance exams this year, was supposed to relax and enjoy this trip, but she was very disturbed by this unkind behavior.

Lisa even told me, “You should leave the room at 12:00.” When I pointed out that addressing us as guests does not match the tone of should, she repeated in a harsher way: “Actually you MUST leave the room at 12:00.”

So, if you don’t want to be stressed or treated harshly on your holiday, do not choose this hotel. If they continue to be managed with this mentality, I would say: “DEFINITELY DO NOT STAY HERE.” I personally will never return.

On a positive note, I want to thank Alla at reservations. She was the one who smiled and politely asked about helping with our luggage – the first time anyone in this...

We were a bit surprised at how small the room was. I considered giving only 4 stars because of that, but everything else was perfect and we slept very well in the very comfortable bed in a clean room in a very fun, interesting hotel with easy parking, so, I think they earned 5 stars. We stayed in the cheapest room, so probably not all the rooms are as small as ours was. The bed was literally filling the whole space between the bathroom wall and the outer wall so that we had to crawl into bed from the foot of the bed. It was a little bit funny. But it was a really big bed! The shower was also very tiny and the bathroom door couldn't open fully because it hit the bed. But those are the only bad things I can say about this hotel. Everything else was great. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the atmosphere of the hotel is great fun! All the medieval decor... Suits of armor, weapons and shields, coats of arms... From the elevator to the lights, everything has been made to look so fun!!! If you are arriving by car, be sure to let them know and they will give you the GPS location for the entrance to the parking area, which makes finding it easy. If you drive to the location of the hotel you would have difficulty finding the parking area. But they were very clear in their communication with us to include the directions to get into the parking and it was very helpful and made it easy! We walked just a few blocks to a tram stop that was only 5 stops directly to the castle. Easy! If you walk towards the river to the nearest bridge (easy 5 minute walk) you get a great view of Charles bridge. This is just a great hotel. Very fun atmosphere with all the decorations. We would...

The worst stay ever. It was my very first travle to Prague with my husband and little kid age 6, and just after one night of stay, I doubt I would visit this place ever again. If you follow the map and arrive to the right address, the main entrance is somewhere far away from that spot. (One piece of paper attached on the backdoor is all they prepared.) We had to drive our car way around to get to the hotel. Only one staff was at the reception for late check-in guests (we felt sorry for him since he was kind but had to struggle doing everything by himself). The room was totally different and certainly not the one (royal deluxe double room) we have seen on the booking website. About 10m2 smaller than the room we paid for, spiders and webs above our heads, a water flooding refrigerator, and even fungus and stains in the bathroom.... We talked to the man at the reception, but he could't do anything because all rooms were fully booked. When we finally met the manager lady next morning, she just simply said room sizing can be varied and nothing became wrong (without any sign or look of feeling sorry, I felt she was rather rude). I still cannot understand for what we have willingly paid more if the room is randomly assigned and we have nothing to do as the lady insists.

Conveniently located 10 mins walk away from the famous Charles bridge and 9 mins walk away from the National Theatre. It’s located next to a park which gives the feeling of tranquility even though the hotel is located next to the hustle and bustle. Rooms are adequate, nothing special but then the staff would make up for the lacking room standards. Staff is attentive, caring and patient with the guests. Room was cleaned throughly every day during my 6 night stay. Any toiletries that you may have forgotten to bring not to worry as the staff as gotten you covered. Breakfast was of a good standard, especially the scrammed eggs and the variety of breads. Hotel is decorated in a unique style which might not be of every ones cup of tea but I didn’t mind it as it was breathe of fresh air due to it being loud and over the top especially the breakfast hall. The night some guests started to play the piano in the big hall and it created a memorable experience. I’d definitely be returning back to Prague and will be staying at this restaurant. Staff deserves the high praise. Well done and thank you for looking after me so well.
