I have been to Prague more times then I care to remember, and one thing that really stood out was the next level cocktail scene. I will be honest a say this is due in great part to the best damn cocktail-god I know shining his light on this city in the amber hues of a rum old fashioned, lifting it ever higher with a midnight café or even surprising you by giving you what you wanted most without knowing it at the summary indication of a flavor palate...

The bar itself is at first unassuming, it truly looks like an exclusive book club. You arrive by ringing the bell to keep out the "trash", giving you a personal welcome at the door, furthering the illusion of exclusivity. In all honesty anyone is probably accepted but it works well to make you feel invited.

But even without the Prague Dionysos the cocktails are very good, tough expensive, they know what they are worth and you are paying more for then just drinks.

When we were there last wednesday, there was an angel singing there whose rendition of wicked games was just...wow. I was going to ask her to sing "Kiss from a Rose" but I was too late.. Aw well, next time.

I can keep on rambling but in essence, go to Prague, visit what you like and finish here around 22-24, it is a perfect ending for your evening if you like conversation without needing to shout and good drink.

Keep up the good work...

WOW, just wow. It's all about the details!

Of the many bars I have visited in the world, this one has to be very close to the top of the list.

From the wooden walls, to the copper topped bar and impressive whiskey collection, this place has it all, and then some more. And by more, I mean a separate cigar area, and cute retro CRT TV screens playing old James Bond movies. (Complete with English subtitles so you can read along while sipping your drink)

The cocktail list is extensive, but the team will also share one of the off-the-menu favourites with you. Just ask.

After just the right amount of cocktails to warm up, its time to take a whiskey fight and a cigar next door to the cosiest place to enjoy the experience. Remember Tuesday is whiskey night. (This means that you get a neat little discount with your order.)

Sit back with your favourite stogie, chill in the wood and book lined walls and soak in some of the finest whiskeys in the world. All of course while discovering detail after monkey detail.

Bond will capture your attention again and again, but only for a moment.

I will be back, sooner...

A Symphony of Flavors and an incredible service from everyone! Yesterday was the love of my life, Lucie’s Birthday and we chose the best place in Prague to celebrate her special day. Upon entering the magical place, one is immediately struck by how classy and stunning the bar is and greeted by a beautiful smile from the hostess who is from Ukraine, I believe her name was Sabi, she also makes great cocktails and her smile again was contagious. Their resident mixologist's approach to cocktail creation is truly artistic resulting in beverages that are not only pleasing to the palate but also visually stunning. Michal, the manager of the bar was awesome and a true professional. Assisted at the bar by Hanka who makes phenomenal drinks, we ended up staying 7 hours there. My girl’s birthday was a total SUCCESS. The staff's hospitality, particularly that of the female members and not forgetting Kate enhances the overall experience, making each visit memorable. The new menu is a bold exploration of flavors, deserving of high praise to the creator. Thank you to everyone for a fantastic birthday party in style...

A charming spot that perfectly blends luxury with warmth. The ambience was absolutely stunning—dim lighting, plush seating, and a sophisticated, modern décor that made the space feel intimate yet stylish. Music played in the background, adding to the cozy atmosphere without being too loud for conversation. The staff were attentive and welcoming, making sure you feel comfortable. The drink menu was extensive, featuring craft cocktails that were as elegant as they were delicious. I highly recommend trying the signature cocktail; it was a perfect mix of flavors, beautifully presented. What really stood out was how the bar balanced its upscale vibe with a sense of coziness. It’s the kind of place where you can dress up for a night out or just relax and unwind after a long day. Whether you're looking for a date night spot or a quiet evening with friends, “bar and the books “delivers a top-tier experience. Will definitely be returning!

The service here is such hit or miss, sometimes it's brilliant, with charming and attentive hosts, sometimes it's just mediocre, but my last visit was the last one, at least for a while, because it was a disaster. We were the only customers there, the hostess seated us, brought us our drinks and that was it. For the next hour she was standing with her back in our face (see the photo), chatting with the bartender and the other host, watching James Bond movie on the tv set and completely ignoring us. She was obviously having great time, well, we weren't. When we were leaving, she didn't even bother to bring our coats, we had to find them by ourselves, and finally she didn't even say goodbye, just turned away and it was the bartender who actually opened the door for us. Really, your hosts need retraining, because this was pretty disappointing experience even considering Prague's standard of service.
