Maybe they hat a bad day, but also maybe the restaurant has been overrun by tourists. When we were there we got a table without reservation, but that was the most positive thing. The Pilsener was badly draftet, the worst I had in Prague. The beer cheese was too hard, the french fries not crispy at all, the trout was not only very small but also very late, it arrived half an hour late at the table, because the staff or the kitchen had simply forgotten it. The staff apologized but they offered neither a small discount nor a free Schnaps at the end (even though we were a family of five people having a cinsiderable amount of food). The non alcoholic Birell Grep was on the menue but not in stock, neither was the beer of the day. The pancakes were lukewarm and clearly not homemade. The potatoes were cooked way too long and tasted bad. And also, the day after that when we considered having one last beer at night we were rudely rejected by just the same staff that had us wait for the trout forever, whoch showed that they have no memory of the faces they served the day before. I am from Berlin which means that in the respects of quality and friendlyness I am not exactly spoiled, but our visit was a great disappointment. It is not a cheap place but I guess they can rely on the guests not coming again as they are tourists. As for me, I had recommended the place after having visited it in April, when I was in Prague with two friends, but maybe having ordered the most expensive a huge meat plate back then and concentrating on havin quite a few beers had diluted my impression of the place. I would not recommend it anymore and I will not be back very soon. The house brew was good by the way. And well drafted. The...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I have ever had in restaurants. We were 4 people and went there for beer and traditional Czech cuisine. The beer was decent and relevant to the price. The food was terrible and the same thing applies to the We tried several dishes most of them containing meat. The warm dishes were actually pre-cooked and warmed again which explains why they were cold about 2-3 minutes after they were served. Raw vegetables of terrible quality and three of us had stomach ache 2-3 hours after the meal. Another important thing that has been mentioned in several other reviews is the attitude of the staff towards foreigners. The first waitress that came to us for drinks order was really really rude. Two of us only have made up their minds of what drink to order and we requested that she come again in 5 minutes for the rest of us. Then, she got mad, ripped our order off her notepad and threw it in the trash can. After that she left and it took about 10 minutes to us till another staff member arrives to take our complete order. They also charge 25 czk per person for the service. The reason we visited this place is that it was recommended by a local tour guide (free walking tours). Apparently there is some kind of collaboration between that local tour company and this restaurant cause I read other reviews mentioning the same connection. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place for food to anyone. Do yourself a favour and don’t waste your time and money on that restaurant. The only decent thing was the beer but there are far better places to grab a homemade beer in Prague and also eat food of...
Read more07.08.2025 around 17:00 we went there, 11 people for beer. We didn't want food because we had a reserved table elsewhere and we just wanted to sit and drink beer. They didn't let us in, they said that if we didn't order food, we couldn't go in. We agreed because we wanted to spend an hour drinking beer before dinner. And then it started. The service was disgusting. The guy who poured the beer was so rude that there are no words for it. He immediately brought us the order and the bill (the guy who poured the beer). I started to pay for everyone, but the payment didn't go through. He started sighing so much and said that there was no money on the bill, but in such a tone that I blushed, turned pale and felt so shy, as if I were the most malicious defaulter, but I know that the money is there. I was shocked and even started to get nervous, someone from our party paid, but I felt so embarrassed and ashamed. If anyone from the management is reading this, tell that nervous guy: if contactless payment doesn't work, try inserting the card into the terminal and everything will be fine. I thought they hated us, that we spoke Russian, but no, Americans came and the same thing, they ordered drinks and wanted to sit in the restaurant and he started shouting. We started to look at this circus and the clown who was pouring beer, who thinks he is the master of life. I think his job is just to pour beer, and who sits where, it's...
