The restaurant has a (un)clear issue with having kids dining in but it doesn’t state it anywhere for marketing reasons (I suppose!) - in a family friendly country as DK that would be unacceptable. We were literally kicked out yesterday, 8th July 2025, at lunch, on a Tuesday, when the restaurant wasn’t even full, as we were told, after having our booking confirmed (where we asked about space for a stroller next to the table), that the stroller with our newborn inside wasn’t welcome. This wasn’t stated anywhere at the moment of the reservation and wasn’t communicated at the moment of the booking confirmation. The staff offered to leave the stroller outside, as we could check it out from the window (!?) - how to sit a one month baby then? A newborn cannot sit on a high chair, clearly. I am reading on this feed of other reviews of parents of different age kids treated in the same way, invited in a non-transparent way to leave. The staff wasn’t even able to invite us out in a professional way, as they weren’t even trained enough to cover this shameful behavior with a slight service-minded attitude. I want to specify that I am not a tourist. I have been in Copenhagen for over 10 years and this experience was quite shocking. If you do not want kids dining in, be clear and take responsibility for your...
Read moreMy mother treated me, my husband and teenaged kids to lunch at this location, and we had a really lovely meal. They had no problem accomodating her gluten allergy, and the family’s vegetarian also enjoyed their smørrebrød and other dishes. The servers were pleasant, and the locale was beautiful as well as the views. We were relieved that the acoustics were really good, so we had no problem hearing each other and weren’t bothered by the other patrons’ chatter. A few things that could’ve been better were 1) the two hour time slot could’ve been a smidge longer, since the service wasn’t super fast and I did get stressed that we wouldn’t have time to have coffee and dessert. Luckily, no one needed our table after us and we ended up staying 15 mins. after our time slot ended, which was perfect and 2) my mom is sight-impaired and the hallway to the bathroom is very dark and dim, which made finding her way a bit difficult, and the lighting and mirrors in the bathroom combined with the colors of the soap and hand towel dispensers made it frustrating to navigate washing and drying her hands. Definitely not something that was considered in the design of the place, which is also a theater, but could easily be improved for those who have...
Read moreWhile I have tasted the food at Aamanns before and found it quite nice I was completely appalled by the prices and setup at their bar outside the playhouse near the waterfront.
My wife and I wanted a glass of wine before seeing a play and I thought the outside serving was a regular cafe not associated with Aamanns, but I was so very wrong. I ordered two glasses of white wine and was asked to pay 290 DKK. The tiny plastic cups of pinot gris were 145 DKK per cup!!! The plastic cups were way to small for the content and would perhaps be an appropriate vessel for a cheap wine wine, but certainly not something at this price point. I would never have ordered this had I know it being served in plastic cups and at such absurd prices. The bar had no visible menus and I had not asked for the price beforehand, so I paid for the cups and the fault is at my hand. I have however promised never to return to Aamanns and warn all I can never to get near the place. It seems like a tourist trap.
Tip: I you wish to avoid being ripped of you can by a glass of wine at 65 DKK per glass inside the playhouse in the far end from Aamanns. They also sell a...
