First time was really good, second time we tried an Early Bird preset menu with wine pairing.

First things first. Can we agree on that you offer the guest the choice between still or sparkling water and don't just assume that they want still? Other guests were offered the choice. Secondly, you shouldn't serve lukewarm water. Lastly, when it says water ad libitum, you should offer the guest more water when you can see their bottle and glasses are empty. Other restaurants know how to do that, a restaurant of this caliber should also know this.

Food and service was outstanding in the beginning, apart from the water, but suddenly dropped and wasn't followed through to the end. The plantain bananas were very nice with the salsa verde. Cerviche very nice, could be outstanding with some few changes. Scallops were outstanding. Quinoa dish was outstanding. The striploin meat was overcooked - you should always ask your guests and be attentative when serving meat and not afterwards. Wine pairing was decent, but dessert wine I'm pretty sure wasn't from Tasmania. Remember to follow up on the guests' opinion when you indicate you're curious about it beforehand. The thing about Australian wines: they can be a funny gimmick with funny names and be good or bad - this one wasn't good and had way too much fizziness to it. Arroz con leche was very nice, but the dessert wine didn't compliment it. Coffee was served after we had finished the dessert and we had to ask for our our coffee over and over again. It didn't help they didn't know how to make cortados, because halfway through I could only taste milk.

Nice locals and furniture, but unfortunately service level dropped a lot at some point....

The food was good, and service staff were nice and polite. However, the waiter who took my order misjudged and advised me to order too much food. I was dining alone and am not a huge person. I ordered the halibut ceviche and miso salmon - both yummy, though not particularly outstanding. The waiter then told me that the serving of both were small and that I should add on a side of chaufa rice to which i agreed as normally the waiter knows best (I feel like the best waiters normally advise you when you have over ordered, and this is the first time I was pushed to order more).

When the halibut ceviche and miso salmon came, they were both decently sized and as I expected (a plus point i guess, serving is not small). The chaufa rice, sort of a japanese fried rice, was of a rather large serving - can be taken as a main or a side if shared among 2 to 3 people. The chaufa rice was also a little salty for my liking. I could only eat about a quarter of the chaufa rice before being too full and i ended up packing the rice to go. The same waiter also did not seem too pleased when I packed the food to go (not sure what the dining practices here are) and refused his suggestions to order some dishes. This misjudgment or a push to over order by the waiter marred my dining experience here unfortunately, would have been a decent...

We celebrated a small and quite spontaneous wedding at Issei and it was truly exceptional! I felt like I had made the right choice from the first mail I received from Issei. Everything was very well planned and Issei makes you feel very welcomed. The staff is very attentive, service-oriented and experienced. After a lovely reception we had the long omakase menu which I can highly recommend. The food was presented very professionally and the whole dining experience was outstanding. Every dish was very innovative and delicious, the different textures and flavours were combined together wonderfully. Therefore I cannot even tell what was my favourite dish. The staff made sure that everything was to our liking and cared for even the smallest detail. I especially want to thank Daniel. He worked on that evening - even though it was actually his day off- and he did a truly amazing job. Everything was organised and done so professionally. He even thought of details we hadn’t paid attention to while planning. The timing of everything was perfect and we were thrilled. All of the guests thanked me later for such a wonderful evening with memories they will cherish forever. I highly recommend Issei - especially when you want to celebrate a...

Unforgettable Experience at Issei! We recently had the pleasure of dining at Issei, both for a long omakase dinner and their special Christmas Dinner. From the moment we walked in, the warmth and hospitality of the staff were immediately apparent. The waiters and kitchen staff were very helpful and provided an excellent service. The food was amazing. Each dish was packed with flavor. The ambiance added to the overall experience with its cozy feel. True Hygge! The cocktails were very unique and an experience of their own. We are particularly thankful to the kind kitchen staff during the Christmas Dinner. The only wish we left with was for more space—not just physically, but gastronomically, as we wanted to savor even more of their delicious food! We totally recommend Issei for nice food and cozy atmosphere and location in the center of Copenhagen.
