This place could have been nice, with some simple common-sense modifications. The ordering system (an old-seeming android tablet, paired with sticky physical menues) leaves much to be desired. It's hard to navigate, and items like the matcha manga smoothie just disappear in front of your eyes. Making new physical menues, and taking orders in the normal way would make the initial impression a lot better. Moving towards the actual selection and pricing: it's mostly fine, it's too expensive for what you really get but more or less expected from the touristy area. What isn't expected, however, is charging 19 kroner for Copenhagen tap water (per person!!!) or 68kr for a big sprite.... The air inside the building is very thick, hot, fragrant, and simply unventilated - it was physically uncomfortable being there, and it left a smell in some of our clothing. This could very very easily be mitigated with an AC unit or some air. We were told there was an abnormal waiting time for the food, but we were actually satisfied with the time it took. The taste and portion sizes were good, especially the chilli oil was tasty. The staff were kind and competent, but the overall service impression was still bad due to the tablet ordering system and the restaurant environment. The men's bathroom looked like it belonged in a train station, there was no real huge issue but it definitely needs a makeover urgently. My sister seemingly got food poisoning the same night as we ate there, but we have nothing to indicate or prove that it was due...
Read moreHaving grown up in Asia, where I tasted Chinese food from Singapore and Hong Kong, I was very much looking forward to the Dim Sum offering at Magasasa. Truth to be hold, I must say it left much to be desired. So it's only fitting that a Chinese idiom that reflected this style of cooking came to my head, which is "aak gwai lo sik dau fu", where translated means tricking the ghost to eat tofu. This Chinese idiom is used to refer to tricking foreigners to believing that what they are experiencing is quality and properly made Chinese food, when it's actually not. Will not be returning here to dine. Saying that the cocktails are decent.
*Example: Har Cheong Fun - It should not be topped with dark soya - this is wrong and sloppy! Siu Mai - This seems just to be bought frozen and steamed, where it lacks any real texture and love - probably bought from the Asian store 20 meters away.
This is a no go and not even remotely close to what it should be! FIX IMMEDIATELY!!!
The reason that a 1 is given is because it's lacking love, freshness, real recipes, bought frozen from the store next door and served, and mostly because it's not authentic Chinese cooking. I can recommend other joints in Amager and Norrebro that are way better.
*Original score was a 2, but downgraded as upon reflection I wont be returning to spend good money at this joint...

After many times we dine in at Magasasa, I unfortunately want to write a bad review even if I’m not use to it.
I want to precise that the food was nice, except for the Chinese goulash where I unfortunately find a plastic in it.
The things that most annoyed us were the excuses from the floor manager (I guess was her) about the plastic, saying that it’s something that can happen when chefs opens bags in the kitchen. The answer: NO, it can’t, I’m a chef and my husband too, since many years. And try to find an excuse has been the most disrespectful act from her. Not considering the fact that they offer the tap water (19dkk) instead of the “bad dish”.
And then let’s say that have the view of the kitchen and see one of the chef drinking a pint of beer during service is not the most professional way either.
I’m disappointed for what happened, because in other circumstances I would be back to eat in there, but not...
