During our visit to Cafe Bluebird in Chamonix, we had the opportunity to experience it on three separate occasions. While the overall experience was pleasant, there were some aspects that could use improvement.
On all occasions, our orders seemed to be consistently incorrect. Out of three coffees ordered, only two arrived each time, even when different people placed the orders. Additionally, when requesting menu replacements like no bread or no sausage due to dietary preferences or gluten avoidance, the staff assured us it wouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately, these requests were not accommodated.
As for the food, it presented a mix of experiences. The sausage was consistently undercooked, which was disappointing. However, the hash brown was delightfully crispy and flavorful. The vegetarian breakfast wrap stood out as a highlight, but we noticed that it wasn't heated thoroughly enough, resulting in a cold center and a warm exterior.
I suppose it’s important to make sure things like meat and wraps which are chilled are heated to an optimal temperature for food hygiene purposes.
Nevertheless, it's essential to note the positive aspects of the cafe. Situated in a serene and pleasant area of Chamonix, the ambiance was enjoyable. The staff members were amiable, and the tables were well-maintained and abundant, providing a comfortable dining environment.
While there is room for improvement in some areas, Cafe Bluebird has the potential to elevate its offerings and create an even more enjoyable dining experience for...
Read moreDisappointing! The breakfast was average, and expensive for the quality of food.
This was the first restaurant in our 5 day Chamonix trip to ask for a tip on payment, very presumptuous even more so considering we hadn’t received our food yet!
The place is very small and crapped. I can only describe the experience as sitting in someone’s living room who’s hungover after a night out. Some guys came in, obviously familiar to the staff talking very loudly of their drunken antics the night before. It was odd that the staff joined them in their chats, swearing loudly. They then proceeded to wedge the door open, not only making the tiny room freezing from the cold but also allowed stray dogs in to pester us for our food.
The pinnacle of this disastrous dining experience was the chef then going outside, ignoring the orders that had just been placed and stood smoking in front of the whole cafe. It was enough to totally put me off my food. Between that and the dogs, this place clearly has no hygiene standards.
In a nutshell, an expensive, chaotic and unhygienic cafe, I would totally avoid whilst...
Read moreHad breakfast there with my family lured by vegan options and early start but very dissatisfied and wouldn’t recommend. This place is very small and kitchen is just behind the corner, so when breakfast was prepared all the smoke was just in front of us so I had to step outside just to get some fresh chilly air, it was early Feb. Food was just terrible and overpriced- too much oil, bacon over fried, sausages - uneatable. I didn’t know it’s possible to mess up such a simple dish but really impressed by the extent. And we got our dishes after 40 minutes of order which ruined the whole plan of eating early and started skiing. Also we got our dishes after the company who ordered pretty much the same as we did but after us. Seating places are ok, but very close to each other and to the walls. Atmosphere was pretty special - mostly personnel from ski lifts and similar, nice guys but not really family friendly. So wouldn’t recommend neither for breakfast, nor for lunch, unless you need a...
